Paperbacks can be personal - whilst you can 'highlight' sections that you like, you can remember sections through the worn out pages, the bent spines. It is also harder to organise shelves for books and you cannot borrow them from friends etc...
However, e-books are more condensed and can contain more material in smaller spaces for planes and journeys. E-books can hurt your eyes looking at them but you can change the size of text and spaces between words.
Personally: Paperbacks/Hardbacks!
