Christine Ellis (christine_ellis) | 2 comments Hi there,

I am loooking for readers who might be interested giving feedback and possibly reviewing two of my newly released self-help books:

"Your Inner Child is a Winner - How to reclaim your natural confidence and self-esteem" (about 15,000 words)

and

"The Happiness Switch - How to heal anxiety and depression by focusing on and cultivating good feelings". (about 17,000 words)

Both books have a very strong spiritual component and are based on my journey as a long-time sufferer of anxiety and depression with very low self-esteem (diagnosed with PTSD at some point). I managed to stumble my way into healing all that - and now I want to share my experiences with others.

I've written these books with the intention of being helpful and based on what I personally would like to read (and find helpful) but I haven't shown them much into the world.

I would really like to start conversations with readers who are interested in these topics, to see if the books are truly relevant and helpful.

If interested, please let me know here on GR or at findgoodfeelings "at" gmail.com.

Thank you!

Athena Divine (athenadivine) | 5 comments I'm interested but I think I would need to know what you mean about "spiritual". You see I'm Pagan and not interested in reading about how someone found their way with the christian god. I'm always happy for them but I already know it's not for me.

Christine Ellis (christine_ellis) | 2 comments Hi Athena,

What I meant by "spiritual" has nothing to do with any form of organized religion (Christian or otherwise). I'm into "Law of Attraction" mostly, the Abraham-Hicks variety. I think that thoughts are magnetic in nature and that this magnetism is amplified enormously when there is strong emotion involved. The books that I wrote (especially "The Happiness Switch") are based on the premise that thoughts/feelings are attractive and so, if you focus on a PURE feeling, you will attract whatever resonates with that, whether you apply it to a specific situation in your life or not.

For example, you might look at a bunch of children playing on a playground and start to feel their pure joy. It has nothing to do with you but just by observing it, you have brought it in your experience. So if you keep this up, this joy that you have brought in (plus other feelings that you observe), will end up shifting your moods (and ultimately attract a great life, but that's a side-effect).

The other book, "Your Inner Child is a Winner" has some of this built in too, but there the premises (based on my personal observation of hundreds of children and adults over the years - as a teacher) are that: 1) children are born as pure love; 2) they have no issues with self-love at all - or love in general; 3) they are always connected to a "knowingness" inside that leads them towards what is good for them in order to thrive. These might be considered "spiritual" principles if you will. I personally only want to help people recover their natural sense of well-being - and their built-in self-esteem.
