Where's the second book?

I read the e-book version of this novel. In the Acknowledgements section, the author says that the second book would be out sometime in August 2015. It's been over a year since. Is there a second book coming? Has the series been abandoned?

I think it has, the author was slightly distraught that this one did not make the Best Seller list like a lot of her other novels and wasn't as "accepted" with positive reviews. I...LOVED it, and really wish she would continue it. Supposedly a tv series is in the works.

There is indeed a tv Show in the works. That's how I stumbled upon this book. It's going to star Chris Noth and Leven Rambin.
I'm really looking forward to seeing how it plays out and where Kit ends up.

I'm pretty sure the author switched publishers, and her new one hasn't published it.
