Devin Hampton | 12 comments In The Remedy, the main character, Quinn, is a closer which is a person who replaces a person who has died within a family that didn’t have the closure they wanted with the child before he or she died. With the family she is with now, she is involved with the mother, father, even the boyfriend, but not the sister and the sister, Angie, wants nothing to do with her but Quinn sees that the she needs her help. Quinn follows the sister to a place called ‘The Warehouse”, which is like an old club that all the people their age go to hang out. When Quinn arrives, she hides in the darker part of the club so she can be unnoticed and observe her “sister” until Angie spots her without Quinn, known as Catalina to Angie, noticing she has spotted her (159). Angie quickly starts yelling at Quinn and telling her that she doesn’t belong here and that she is a monster for acting as if she is Catalina (160). As they are continuing to gain attention from the others in the club, Angie proceeds to grab a drink from one of the guys standing nearby and throws it onto Quinn stating that she never wants to see her again (160). Quinn then realizes the attention that is now on her and Angie and head out of The Warehouse with her ex-boyfriend/partner that she brought along with her to help, as he is helping her clean herself up and comfort her the best she can (161). Throughout this situation, it is evident on how hard it is for Quinn to take on Catalina’s role and act as if she is her with many examples such as having to hide in the dark so she is not noticed, getting yelled at for just being in the room, and having to bring someone along with her because she knows something is going to go wrong but knowing that she should still try to help Angie. This was the part of the book so far that really jumped out at me and made me realize what is would be like to be in Quinn’s situation and to have her job as a closer and made the story so much more interesting than just having Quinn sit at home with Catalina’s parents as she is acting as Catalina.

Olivia Barnes | 9 comments Does she look like Catalina or is she just a random girl they hired? Sounds really unique compared to a lot of sci-fi books. The plot sounds really good

I find it almost strange that Quinn and her ex-boyfriend can still do stuff like that together, almost sounds like there is going to be some romance in this book. There seems to be a lot of tension between Angie and Quinn, does Angie just not like her, or did Quinn do something to make Angie not appreciate her presence? Also is there anything in the book that explains how a person becomes a closer?

Katie Bean | 12 comments This sounds so weird but so good! I don't think I could ever be a closer just because your having to live the role of someone else and not yourself so its like you are not even living. And if I was a parent I would be even more depressed that a replacement is trying to act as my daughter or son. This just sound so weird, can't wait t here what happens next.
