Task 20.5. Bigger is Better - Loafer's Task: The Long and Short of It

This is a one book task. Choose one of the following options. REQUIRED: Specify which option you are using.

Option 1: I love the feeling of accomplishment after I finish reading a "Big Book". It's especially satisfying to close the cover and make room on my shelves when I've read the physical book. Read a book from the first 5 pages of this Goodreads list:
Big Fat Books Worth the Effort
REQUIRED: State the list page on which your selection was found.

Option 2: I also love a well-written short story. How some authors are able to accomplish so much in so few pages is impressive. They are also fun to sneak in on busier days.

Read a book that is a collection of short stories or essays.

For me that book is A Game of Thrones. But, I am skipping it again in favor of East of Eden, which is due for several challenges.

Andrea All of the above and many more are on my TBR list - it seems endless but I am looking forward to each. I might read Gone with the Wind for this

I personally go with "A Game of Thrones"

Justme | 256 comments I have this preapproved to use in general, but wanted to get approval for option 2. I am reading 3 ebooks that are a collection in a print book (no individual print books exist) to count as a single book.

**Print book:
Wolf Town Mates 240 pgs

ebooks:
Wolf Town
Push Pull
Moon Run

https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Wolf Town
Push Pull
Moon Run
each less than 80 pages

**may be read together as the paperback Wolf Town Mates for tasks where the individual titles all have a common element like author or genre

thank you

Since you would be reading all three as they were published in the print edition as a collection, it would technically qualify as I did not specify a main page genre, so it is approved.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 4447 comments For Option 2 - Please confirm SHORT STORIES

The Wedding Dress Stories From The Dakota Plains by Carrie Young by Carrie Young

Yes - GR description: This text contains seven short stories by Carrie Young.

as long as it is clear in the book's description that it is a collection of short stories or essays, it is acceptable

Andy Plonka (plonkaac) | 4207 comments May I use 10,000 Lakes: Tales from the North Country for option 2? There are no main page genre entries, but the description clearly indicates it is a collection of short stories (and essays) Thanks,
Andy
