He felt a little bad that she'd figured out he was lying, but...she seemed really nice and not bothered by it at all, so he was grateful. "Thank you..."

Brandon put the book she'd given him back in the empty space on the shelf. Then he scanned the other books in the same category, looking for the one by the author he was searching for.

A moment or two later, Brandon finally spotted it on one of the higher shelves and pulled it down to make sure that was the one he wanted.

"I think this is it..." Brandon said once he had read through the whole inside flap. He supposed that she would want to know since she had tried to help him previously.

Tahlia's usual spot was the worn velvet chair at the back of the shop. She usually read a thick book as she waited for someone to enter the store.
But today, she sat on a stool at the front of the store behind the counter.
She was gazing at the blue rose plant absentmindedly, thinking about everything that had been happening lately.

His first impression of the bookstore was that it was huge- far too huge for someone who just wanted to go in and quickly grab a book... unless he had a group of people helping him find it. Which he didn't. So he ran a hand through his fair and just browsed the volumes and labels, bored out of his bloody mind.
There was a thud from back in the store and Tahlia realized that someone had come in at some point without her realizing. She stood and shook her short hair out of her eyes before going to locate the person.
When she saw him, her eye brows raised slightly. Then a flash of a blind vision hit her. It was rather strong, but as usual she saw nothing. When her sight returned, she spoke.
"Hm, hm, can... can I help you?" She asked, a little shaky at first.

Tahlia thought for a moment. "depends. Are you a student? A proffessor? Or just a traveller? Because students were prohibited from anything other that information. I can't give out spell books."
"Can you prove it?" Tahlia said, figuring it was simple enough for a student to claim they were something else.

"They're giving out I.D. cards now? Fancy. You could have just told me your name," she read the name on the card, "John. I have a list."
She winked before handing it back to him. "Upstairs. Follow me."

Tahlia snorted. "Well they say confidence is important. So good for you."
She went up the wooden stair case, leading towards the advancedmagic texts.

Tahlia rolled her eyes, continuing forward. "That's where you're mistaken. You see, I'm a woman. And I bite."
They walked past a few shelves before turning and going towards a door at the end of the aisle.
"What type of illusions were you going for? I assume it's deep stuff if it's dark magic."

((I dont think he told her about illusions haha. Just dark magic. ))
((It was a while back so it's okay.))
She would have responded to his first comment but the second one caught her off guard a little.
"You're going to have to tell me why if I'm even going to consider giving you something like that."

"I've met a lot of the students over the years and the darkest I can find seems like over kill," Tahlia said, crossing her arms.
Tahlia narrowed her eyes at him. "Get permission from the headmistress," she said seriously. "Or you'll get a basic book."
"Just because I have them doesn't mean I like to give them out willy-nilly. I'm a collector- not a dark magic enthusiast that is ready to start another massive world destruction. So if you can get her permission and tell me why you need it, then I will consider it," Tahlia said, her eyes flashing gold.

Tahlia scowled at the permission form.
"Look, John. I was being civil before. But you need to understand that I don't trust anyone from that school- you included. They got us into a big mess last time. So hate me for being cautious but your life was not destroyed like the people that lived here before.
"If something is so important that you are playing with dark forces, you better make sure that you're not the only one who knows about it. And you can bet on your british accent that I'll be bringing this to the Rep. And if that isn't enough, you'll have the entire Wisk Falls Pack to answer to. Got it?"
((The Representative is [will be] the one who deals with affairs between the town and the school now. Kind of like the mayor.
Wish Falls Pack is the hierarchy of werewolves/ shifters in the surrounding area obviously))

((A-okay 👍👍))
"Right, because I was oblivious to her permission slip," Tahlia said sarcastically. "I don't have a problem with White. The lady is good, like the last one. That doesn't mean that everything should be kept a secret when more than one thing is at stake," She finished, making her point known. "Remember then I said confidence was important? So is caution. And I can tell you already, I sense something bad in your future."
Tahlia never told anyone about her feelings- the ones she got from her blind visions, except Lacie anyways.
She put her palm to the door which, very obviously now, had no handle and no lock.

Tahlia's nails changed then into sharper, more deadly claws. She traces a secret pattern into the wood.
A glow emanated from the edges of the door until it was almost to bright to see. And just like that, the door was gone. An opening led into a room that was decievingly large as well.

She just looked at him. "Then you must have assumed that what I was saying was meant to be anything other than straight forward. I'm blunt, not rude.
Sorry I'm Not falling at your feet," Tahlia commented before entering the room.
"Don't touch anything."

Everytging was organized just so. Tgere was a desk in the corner with a little lamp that hummed to life as Tahlia approached.
"Let's see," she said, looking through the note book that was illuminated by the light.

Tahlia knew the general book that she wanted and went over to where she knew it would be.
There were multiple dark magic texts but the one she wanted wasn't there.
"Maybe..." She said to herself as she wondered if she moved it.
If she had it would be written in the notebook.
She went down the list, not remembering when she last looked in the dark magic section. It was a surprise when she got to the last entry and there it was. Beside the title was her signature but there was no borrow or location.
