Blaze jumped to follow her, hoping she wasn't trying to get rid of him. "Hey, what are you doing after this?" He asked. He wasn't sure if she'd go for hanging out with him longer, but right now he really wanted to try.

“Probably going to eat something. Why?” She asked, picking another book up and looking it over before putting it back. For another time, maybe.

"You want to get dinner with me?" Blaze asked, relieved that she hadn't eaten yet. He hadn't gone in with the intent to do that, but it was a good opportunity.

“Depends.” Mavis replied, smiling a little but not turning to look at him. “Will it be just the two of us? Because as much as I like the group thing, I don’t appreciate it when they try picking at my food.” Never mind the fact that she did it too.

"No group, just us," Blaze confirmed, his nerves melting a little at how she phrased her question. Even if it wasn't a date, that she wanted to spend time with just him was enough. Even if it was a not minding part, he would take it.

“Do I choose the food?” Mavis asked, teasingly saying things that would make him think she was being picky. She’d eat anything that looked nice enough, though.

"You can pick, definitely," Blaze said, eager to please. He didn't care much what he ate as long as he did get food. Whatever she wanted would be fine. Good, even, so he could find out what she liked.

“I agree to eating with you.” Mavis said, walking for a bit before clearing her throat. “But I… won’t consider this a date. Just two friends eating together… is that fine?”

"Oh, okay. Yeah of course," Blaze said, flustered. He hadn't necessarily asked her out on a date but he also hadn't not asked her out. "Yeah, we're just hanging out. I need to eat, you need to eat, we'll do it together."
