Since Ashley Breanna already posted a review of this one and included a synopsis, I'm just going to include my feelings.
I read this in two days. It was a very easy read in that sense. However, being as passionate of an animal lover as I am, it was very difficult to read at times. It made my heart cry several times. I wish animals weren't kept in cages like these and treated as poorly as they are by some humans.
Even though it was a bittersweet book for me, I'm still glad I read it and I thought it was very good. I loved Applegate's writing style. It was very descriptive and painted a clear picture in my head. It was a joy to read, other than making me angry and sad about how animals are treated by some humans.
I know what you mean --- I am very conflicted about zoos nowadays. I loved them as a kid, but didn't ever really think beyond it being cool to see living creatures.
