9. Why do you think Kesey's Acid Test "Graduation" fails?

For a number of reasons. For one, Kesey's pranks finally caught up to him. Graham refused to back it since he didn't trust Kesey. Also, other members of the group were starting to drift apart. The Grateful Dead bailed out and picked up a gig elsewhere. Mountain Girl fell for Garcia around this time and chose to be with him instead. Halloween probably wasn't the best night to schedule it, either.

Because achieving what drugs did without drugs would be difficult for most people.

I also agree, that because Kesey had to quit the scene, he lost his followers. He was charismatic person but he lost his connections with the more steady people when he got into drugs and craziness people began to seriously doubt him and others did not want to give up the drug scene.
