Pam Baddeley | 1531 comments Re-read Anne McCaffrey's Dragonflight and reviewed it - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1444115513. Enjoyed it, I'm glad to say, having been a bit disappointed when I read the first part earlier this year in the The Hugo Winners 1968-1970.

Thanks Leslie! Yeah, already is, I've gone back for a re-read of Dragonflight by Anne McCaffrey."

I love that series! And Dragonflight is one of my favorites, along with Dragonsong.

Pam Baddeley | 1531 comments Majorly behind with my challenge to read 150 books - think I've just read number 106 - but it was The Face In The Abyss by A Merritt - reviewed - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1649443296.

Pam Baddeley | 1531 comments Re-read Charmed Life by the late great Diana Wynne Jones after many years and didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped, as the whole thing depends on a failure to communicate which, on the part of the adults at least, seems inexcusable. Review - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1366155155.

Pam Baddeley | 1531 comments Read The Lives of Christopher Chant number 4 in the Chrestomanci series by Diana Wynne Jones, which is set years before the first one, and enjoyed it more - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2210202653.

Pam Baddeley | 1531 comments Read Well of Shiuan, book 2 of the Morgaine saga by C J Cherryh and reviewed it - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2219441259.

Pam Baddeley | 1531 comments Read book 3 of C J Cherryh's Morgaine series:
Fires of Azeroth - review - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2225417471.

For some weird reason, in My Books, Fires of Azeroth isn't showing up at the top of my read page because it keeps deleting the date read from the list view. Tried several times adding it but then a refresh blanks it again.

Pam Baddeley | 1531 comments The problem with Azeroth finally sorted itself out when I tried again today.

The final book I completed in 2017 (started another on 31st Dec and completed it yesterday) was The Flesh Eater by John Gordon. Reviewed it - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2240881340.

Thanks Leslie. I didn't complete the Goodreads challenge I'd set myself unfortunately - was 35 short on my 150 target. Not sure why as I'd managed previous years comfortably, so I'm back to 100 books for this year's.

Leslie | 16369 comments I find that it is hard to predict how much I will read -- it feels like I am reading the same amount but the yearly totals vary. Maybe some years there are longer or more difficult books which I read slower than mysteries or sci fi/fantasy...

Yes, and I didn't even tackle many of the Robin Hobb tomes I still have on my TBR as I knew that would bring down my total!
