finished over the weekend. I found out she was Daisy 1/2 way in but did not think she was the killer. All thru the book I kept asking who is she talking to also. I quesss if you are hearing voices it is the tell tale that you are crazy. At the end when she thought she had killed Sirocco and went to the caves to see Wolfe. She knows they now suspect her of murder did she think she was going to get away again? Did she think she and Wolfe were going to vanish together and live happily ever after? Did I miss something? I knew she was slowly cleaning out the house she was living in. Did she want to get caught?

Imo, yes...she thought he would run away with her and they'd live hea. She doesn't know that he helped set her up...that the cops set her up, so I think she thought her and Wolfe would disappear together.

The Daisy that still exists within Maggie pines for Wolfe. She was taken aback when Sirocco showed her the letters that Wolfe written that showed she wasn't the one he was interested in. He was stringing her along as part of the case to expose Maggie.

Exactly...she was fooled & really shocked that those letters were for Sirocco and that they were indeed REAL.

Just finished this one and although the did not see the ending coming I don't think I found myself all that surprised. I did figure out that she was Daisy fairly early on. Really enjoyed this book.
Quite behind this month but decided to download this book and read it to get back to reading. Just on Chapter 2 but very into this read!! :-)

Who are you referring to Susan? The fourth victim, Zoe, turned out to be still alive. She just wanted to get away from her mother.

I'm guessing it will remain as is...a mystery.

Oh that ending. I guess it would be a mystery. Though I don't know how she would survive cold cave water unless there was a way out from that river.

Daisy at the very end she goes into the river
I finally got my hands on this one, Im closing my eyes on the spoiler parts of the discussion for now. So far the beginning is pulling me right in, very interesting.
Since we have been trying to sell the house and I keep going over to the park with showings and reading so Ive been able to cruise through this one! I liked the set up of the book with the snippets of letters and news articles thrown in, I thought it would mess with the flow but it really didn't.
I figured it was Daisy and considered she was talking to herself, but maybe thought it was a dead sister or something. I didn't figure she was the killer until the flies and even then I was like wait, woah, what?! Did not see the set up coming.
Looking back after finishing though Im like oh that makes sense and I should've seen that! This author was amazing at misdirection and distraction so I didn't think too hard about some of the "clues". Like when they found the videotape, it was said something was found, and I wondered what but then got sidetracked with other things! Or the fact of how in depth they were searching her home didn't quite hit me as weird at the time, and it was, but there was so much going on I didn't really think about that fact.
I think Sirroco/Liz is crazy. I wonder at the end if Wolfe will disappear and leave her behind now. Maybe he was using her to get out and she served her purpose. I think this because the part about how he hasn't been in contact with her since everything finished.
