Jack stumbles onto the Poet's "work" as he prepares to write his brother's story. Do you think he would have been discovered if not for Jack?

[Robin]

It may have not become evident for a long time if Jack hadn't stumbled across the pattern. Of course, the killer seemed to be escalating, so someone may have put it together sooner or later.

[Jonetta]

No one was even looking. It was ironic that a Jack got a clue from the FBI's own research. I think they would have eventually discovered the pattern, but like you, Robin, it would have been well down the road.

[Lauren]

I do think that Rachel would eventually have stumbled across it. Backus admits that she was becoming suspicious about him. However, who knows how long it would have taken and how many people he would have killed.
