Jennifer Kowaczek | 3 comments I have seen multiple productions of Les Miserables over the past 17 years -- both professional and high school. The book is on my bookshelf since this past summer. I'm using that one here.

Renee (i_read_and_eat) | 2 comments If anyone is still looking: Ken Follet has some great long books, both Pillars of the Earth and A World Without End are a good 1000 pages long. If your are more into contemporary novels, I liked Here I am by Safran Foer and A Little Life is good as well. For fantasy The Name of the Wind and A Wise Man's Fear a great and about 500 pages. For a simple but atmospheric historical mystery I'd reccomand The Vanishing Witch by Karen Maitland, also about 500 pages.

I will probably use Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrel for this as it's also on my litsyA-Z list and I've been meaning to read it for ages.

Margie (Bookzombie) (bookzombie08) | 6 comments I don't think I will have a hard time with this catagory as I have a lot of longer books that I want to get to this year. Alexander Hamilton, The Godfather, and several by Stephen King are on my tentative list.

I have a few contenders for this category:

Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell
Winter of the World
A Little Life

Chessa (chessakat) | 11 comments I read The Name of the Wind last January and I've been planning to read The Wise Man's Fear in January 2017, so this is perfect!

message 7: by Catie (new)

Catie (catieohjoy) | 3 comments I'm going to go with The Coming of the Third Reich for this one! My husband listened to the audiobook and every time I was in the room while it was playing, I was totally engrossed.

message 8: by Kristopher (new)

Kristopher Underwood (mrcoachu) James Rollins is one of my favorite authors so I new almost immediately that all of his books meet the criteria and I would be going with his 11th Sigma novel, The Bone Labyrinth.

Wendy Johnson | 10 comments My fiancé preordered Mississippi Blood for me, so I'll use it for this The last two books by Greg Iles were 800+ pages so I should be safe.

message 10: by Deborah (new)

Deborah | 15 comments I've been patiently waiting on Mississippi Blood for almost 2 years!! Most my reads are over 400 pages so this is like another free slot for me

Jonathan Strange is always a good choice! :)

Clare I'm currently reading A Storm of Swords by George R R Martin. I bought it in two books - I think it certainly covers the 400 pages! More like 1000! Ah well!

From Litsy, I ordered and read what I thought was going to be a light rom-com novel a la Bridget Jones; but 'We Were on a Break' (by Lindsey Kelk) turned out to be something a bit different: a 412-page novel about the misery a couple puts themselves through after taking a break. Liberty Hardy described this as cute; but I was underwhelmed by each of the protag's cowardice, by the lack of chemistry not only between the couple but between the friends and family characters, by the sad humor... This will be going to the donate pile promptly.

AiBBot | 5 comments Career of Evil by Robert Galbraith.

message 16: by Colleen (new)

Colleen (cocoreads70) I read The Rogue Not Taken by Sarah MacLean

Gemma (midgetgem) | 5 comments A lot of the books I read are over 400 pages or close to it, so I feel kind of like I am cheating a bit here! I recently read the final book in the Age of Legends trilogy - Forest of Ruin, which has 436 pages. I am using this for the over 400 pages square ☺

message 18: by Soscha (new)

Soscha I've already finished Saree. Excellent read, especially if you're looking for something by & about poc.

Laura | 33 comments I have gone with My Lady Jane for this prompt. I'm a little over 1/3 of the way through, and it is such a fun read!
