Once Upon A Time and Jasmine

He began pacing back and forth, vehemently shaking his head as he did so. "I can't control you. I can't do it. Don't make me," he groaned, at a loss of what to do or say. "How are we going to get you to control your powers?"
He stopped pacing and looked up at her, his grey eyes full of pain and despair. "Aaliyah, what are we going to do?"
He couldn't help but feel like all of this was his fault. It was all his fault for turning her into a perfect rather than just letting her run off.
He turned and hit his fist against the wall, unable to control his emotions anymore. "This is all my fault," he said through gritted teeth. "All my fault."

"I don't know but I we have to find the rebels and you can control me and keep me in line." She stammered. She looked down some.

This time he didn't try to resist. He gave up completely, letting her powers wash over him. "I'll control you," he said without emotion, not even looking up at her.

"I'm sorry" she whispered.

Alec immediately felt guilty as he controlled her, but knew that he had no other choice. If he didn't do this then there was no telling what she would do. At least they'd be able to leave quietly this way. "You have to pack a bag," he said quietly, knowing that she would obey him whether he was using a commanding voice or not. "We're leaving."
Without a word Alec began moving through the apartment, heading back towards his room. He grabbed two duffle bags, holding one out behind him, not even bothering to look back and make sure that Aaliyah was there.

The old her would have fought this but she didn't feel like the old her since she changed into a perfect. She looked down some. She hated perfects. Then her mind cleared again and she waited for him to come back and command her again.

He let go of the bag and hoped that she would take it, then began packing his own bag. Alec sighed as he packed, wondering how things had gone so downhill in such a short amount of time. To think that all of this had happened because he had been trying to defy his father.
"Smart," he muttered bitterly to himself, letting out a short harsh laugh. The laugh was humorless, and it was clear he was upset with himself. He was certainly defying his father now. He was defying his whole race for that matter.

"Yes." She muttered softly. Her voice was col and distant. She looked down at the floor. "What's wrong." She asked even though she didn't seem like she cared. Because right now she was emotionless

He walked out of his bedroom and went around the apartment making sure that everything was in place. He left a voice message for his parents saying that he would be staying with a friend in another city for a while, and then called that friend and asked them to cover for him. It would help for a little while in the event that someone tried to find them.

He wasn't paying attention to her. Maybe it was for the best. She was so confused on everything happening. She looked up and waited for him. Everything was dizzy. Her body began to shut down because of her using to much power without resting. She stumbled some. She wanted to be normal again.

For one of the first times in a while Alec realized that he was in completely new territory. He didn't even know what was going on with Aaliyah right night, and that bothered him far more than it probably should have. He just didn't want to stomach the possibility of not being in control.

Aaliyah closed her eyes one more time and this time she didn't open them. She laid there in his arms. A cold sweat broke out on her forehead coming down. She didn't look to good.

Alec shook his head, chewing nervously on his lower lip. He knew that the only way she could be okay would be to stop using so much of her powers. She had to learn to gain control. "Wake up," Alec said forcefully, trying to shake her awake. "You need to stop using any of your powers at all. If you don't stop then you're going to burn yourself out and you're going to die."

She started to struggle to breathe then her fighting sense kicked it. She started to force her powers down but didn't know if it would hold. Her eyes fluttered open. She seemed distant and not all the way there. "Cant stop" She muttered weaklyn

He felt as if his sentence hung in the air, cloaked only by the still silence that followed. He wanted desperately to help Aaliyah but knew that he couldn't - this was an internal struggle. He had gone through something similar himself when he first realized he had another power. Unfortunately for him, he hadn't had anyone there for him.
"I'm right here," Alec said softly, slipping his hand into hers. "I'm staying here, but you have to be strong enough to get through this on your own."
He had seen this only one other time, and the perfect hadn't been able to control themselves. He knew what would happen to her if she couldn't get her powers under control, and he was scared for her.

Then there was the side that fought no matter what the side that didn't give up. While the appliances were flickering said there was a bombing at the dome. Everything clicked into place. Her brother and the rebels.
She stopped using her powers. She tried to get up slowly from Alecs arms but she collapsed. "We have to get my brother they took him the rebels we have to save my brother." She said. She was to weak to do anything at all.

Alec could feel it the moment that she stopped using her powers. It was as if all the tension in the room evaporated. He opened his mouth to congratulate her, but was quickly stopped once she collapsed in his arms.
"I know," he said. "I know. We need to wait for you to gain your strength back. It shouldn't take more than a few minutes, but we can't go and save anyone if you're in this condition."

She slumped against his arms as she started to fall asleep. "Tired" She whispered as she was so close to burning out and not making it. She couldn't go fight he was right. Aaliyah didn't know how to stop and take care of herself. "I have to save my brother though" She kept saying this as she was fighting off the sleep.

"Right now is the easiest and best opportunity," he said, "I won't deny that. But none of this will work if you don't have as much energy possible. You need to calm down."

He began walking around his apartment, cleaning up as he did so. It was custom for perfects to be clean, and the messy state his apartment was now in would be considered distasteful to many. Not to mention, if government officials scoured his apartment after realizing he was gone, a messy apartment would surely arouse suspicions of a human.

Her brother wasn't a perfect. She started to calm down some but everything was wrong as she saw everyone leAve her. Her parents, brother, and Alec. She cried out as she struggled in the never ending nightmare.

His brow creased and he frowned as she cried out and struggled. He realized that she would hardly be getting rest if she was dealing with nightmares the entire time, and he didn't want to see her like that anyway.
Alec got off the chair and knelt down in front of the couch, placing his hand on Aaliyah's shoulder. "Wake up," he said softly, shaking her gently. "Aaliyah, wake up."

"I'm fine have to go to my brother." She repeated but her eyes were closing slowly again. She was too tired to even keep talking as she drifted back into a deep sleep.

"You need the sleep," he murmured, more to himself than to her, as he got up and walked into the kitchen. The least he could do was eat something as he waited. Maybe he should've been resting as well.

She got up slowly from the couch and started to walk to the door. Her knees were wobbly and she gave out. She didn't seem to realize that she needed a break and was burned out. She hit the floor making a loud noise.

"Aaliyah, stop!" he called out, but to no avail. She was already up, and she crumpled to the floor before he could get to her. "Damn it!" he shouted, rushing to her side.
Alec pulled her into his arms and looked down at her, shaking his head. "Why must you be so difficult?" he murmured quietly, his grey eyes reflecting a sad emotion that hadn't been there in years.

"I have to save him" Her voice was quite. "I don't need to sleep or rest I need to be there for him" Thats all she knew.

"Aaliyah, stop!" Alec yelled, trying to talk over her. "I know that we have to save your brother. I want to help you!" His voice held a slight hint of exasperation. He wasn't quite sure what to do anymore, and it was killing him to know that he could hardly help her anymore.
Alec's arms went limp as she said that he didn't care. He angrily shook his head, letting go of her and standing up. "You're so wrong, Aaliyah," he said angrily, trying desperately not to take out his frustrations on her. He knew that what she was going through was hard. However, what she didn't understand was how hard it was to hear her shout things like that and not be hurt by them. "You are the only person I have ever cared about, and I am so tired of hearing you say otherwise."
Alec's grey eyes were cold and hard, and his hands were balled into fists at his side. "Now I know how much you care about your brother, but you can't save him in the state you're in Aaliyah. You just can't. You need to rest, and I am tired of telling you so. The more you ignore me and try to fight me, the less time you have to go after your brother. Do you know what that means? That means the more you fight here, the less of a chance you have of actually getting your brother back. Is that what you want?"

She looked at him shocked at his anger. She wasn't used to anger at all. She wasn't used to anything at all. Only her brother and her. That is all she knew. Aaliyah looked at him startled. "Listen I don't know who you think you are or anything. I'm confused upset and getting angry. There was a bombing where my brother was from the rebels." She said. "We have to leave now because its our only shot of getting out of hear and helping my brother." She looked up at him with a deadly stare.
"I'm not stupid I know I'm not in the fighting state but my I never stopped for a moment when things got hard to do it before and I won't now." Her voice. "I knew about the bombing that was our chance of getting out of there and then you caught me and now I'm a perfect." She realized she was being a little harsh.
"Look I'm sorry if I'm stubborn and don't listen to what you say. I'm sorry I say that you don't care about me. This is new to me Alec." Her pale face was determined but soft. She was tired. "Please help get to the building. If I fall asleep you can carry me saying I'm 'broken'. From there the rebels will see me taking me with them not knowing I'm a perfect. From then they will shock you taking them with us. After that we will be out into the rebels headquarters plotting our revenge on the government." Her voice grew quite as her eyes closed softly collapsing. Her energy was burned out.
Her was pale and body limp. She laid there resting slowly. This wouldnt had happen if she listen and trusted him but that was a big issue for her.

"Stopping now is the only way you'll ever be able to go on," he said quietly, the anger gone from his voice. He didn't even have the energy to be angry anymore. He was slowly growing more and more tired of her stubborn attitude, although he understood it perfectly. His lips curved down slightly as she mentioned the fact that this was really his fault, and he winced internally.
He opened his mouth to say something, but realized it was pointless. He could almost feel her energy draining by the moment, and he quickly moved forward to catch her before her body hit the floor. Alec wasn't sure what to do, but knew there was some truth in her plan.
Alec cursed silently to himself before laying her down on the couch. He walked to his room, grumbling as he did so, and came out with a small backpack. He knew that the guards weren't likely to question it. He walked into his kitchen and threw some food in there, knowing Aaliyah would need to eat it as soon as she got the chance.
With a sigh and a shake of his head he walked back to where Aaliyah lied on the couch. He looked down at her, frowning, before picking her up and starting out the door. If this was the plan she was so insistent on then he would go through with it. He had a feeling it just might be able to work.

She tried her hardest to wake up. Worry that he wouldn't do it. Worried something will go wrong. Worry that she will lose her brother. There was no comfort in being her hardship after hardship. Everything could go wrong. Thinking like this made it hard for her to sleep. Even if she woke up she still had to pretend to make them fall it.
Resting for the first time in forever. Eventually she curled into him looking peacefully. The sky was covered in a black blanket. Screaming and yelling were coming from every direction. Perfect scramming around doing nothing. They were puppets who thought the government would take care of it. To be honest they will but not the way they think.
Rebels gathering around rushing humans in the to vans. They were smart and prepared. Little did everyone know there were Perfects who worked for the rebels. Double agents.
((Hey I thought it would be cool that Alec was a rebel perfect? Its totally up to you))

Alec closed the door behind him and began walking down the stairs from his apartment, stepping down on the sidewalk and beginning to walk. He had one clear direction in mind, and he walked towards it, following the eerie green light that emitted from the central building of the city. Its light could be seen from anywhere in the city, reminding them all of its importance.
He looked down at Aaliyah as he walked, unsure of this whole plan. He found it incredibly strange how much he suddenly seemed willing to give up for her. This whole mission was a suicide mission in his opinion, yet here he was, helping her on her way.
As Alec neared the central building with Aaliyah in his arms he saw a flurry of motion. Everywhere there were perfects lining the street, all seeming scared and unsure what to do. Alec took in the scene before him. There were what seemed like masses of people being taking into vans, and for a moment he was unsure of what he was seeing. It took only a moment for him to realize what was going on through. Rebels, lots of them. They had found their way into the city. With a start he realized that there were some perfects working with them, and it surprised him to realize that those on the sidelines has not realized it.
"Idiots," he scoffed to himself, running up to a rebel who was loading people into the van. "Her brother," he said shortly, holding out Aaliyah and hoping the man would recognize her. "Do you have her brother? Have you found him?"

Aaliyah stood laid there softly in his arms not moving. She felt a lots of new minds and humans. Her eyes flashed open some. Her heart started racing. Where was she? Who cared she wanted the minds. She looked up at Alec not saying a word. Fighting the struggle inside. Her eyes darted around humans perfects together. Minds lots of minds. Not a second later she started to struggle in his arms. The power was too much for her. "Let me go." She said. She twisted free until she ran soon coming to her brother's van. She wasn't thinking at the time. Not one bit the power was consuming.
A little boy her brother scream at the sight of her. Screaming and shouting that she was a monster. That brought her out of it and she ran. Tears coming down her face. Why her? Why couldn't she just been a normal perfect? Then she wouldn't have a big problem like. Why couldn't sad pathetic life be over?

Alec tensed when he felt Aaliyah begin to stir in his arms, getting a bad feeling before she even opened her eyes. He had no idea in what state she would wake up, and they were surrounded by people whose minds she could easily take. "Aailyah, no!" he shouted, but it was no use. She had already twisted free. Alec ran after her, a feeling of dread in the pit of his stomach as he saw where she was running. She had to know that her brother would be scared of her.
At the sound of her brothers scream Alec cringed, only guessing at the amount of pain that inflicted upon Aaliyah. Once again she began running, and Alec muttered a curse underneath his breath before running after her. "Aailyah! Aaliyah, come back. We have to leave now!"

Getting it together. No more tears. No more emotions. She had to be the girl she was before all of this. She was cold person before it this. She was never this emotional. "Alec you didn't have to go. It would have been better to turn me into the government." Her voice fell off. "I think that we aren't going to work out." It killed her to say that. She was so confused about everything. Words, memories, and minds were swarming into her. "I think this was a mistake we should go."

Alec walked behind her, and his face instantly fell once she began talking again. "Aaliyah, what are you talking about?" he asked quietly. He could hardly hear his own voice as he talked. Her words repeated and echoed in his head. He almost felt as if he were in a dream. "This wasn't a mistake. Let's keep walking to the van. We have to go, before the government figures out how to control this and security comes rushing out."

"I don't know what I"m talking about. I can't focus on anything. Alec so many minds and voices in my head." Her voice trailed off. No one had the power she had. And that power could make someone go crazy. Especially if she didn't know how to use it. "Alec it was an mistake too many minds." She said. "Make it stop."

"Then don't talk," Alec said simply, walking closer and closer to the van. "Just sleep Aaliyah, your body needs it." He was quiet as she talked anyway, much like he knew she would, and he frowned as she did so. "It wasn't a mistake, Aaliyah, and I can't make it stop. Just sleep."
He wished desperately that there was some way he could better help her, but he knew that she was going to have to learn to control it for herself. He could remember having trouble when he was first turned as well. There had been so many minds that he could feel, he thought he might go insane.
He quickly got to the van and got inside, never letting go of Aaliyah. He looked over to the man he had first met, and he couldn't remember if the man had ever told him what his name was. "We're ready whenever you are."

The guy nodded his head. "We are going to a top secret area. The humans and perfects live together in peace. She will be the newest one before any human contact or even some perfect contact she needs control it. She needs to expect that this her fate and that she isn't a monster." He paused glancing up at him.
"We are going to put her in a stimulation to show she can use her powers for good. We also have to test to see how much the government has her under their control since newer perfects are more easier controlled by them." He turned down a dirt road. "We have about a couple hours before we get there."

He raised an eyebrow when the man spoke, trying not to express nearly as much surprise as he was feeling. He knew that Aaliyah had spoken of a secret place for the rebels, but he had no idea that there were other perfects who lived with them. "There are other perfects who have...left their cities?" Alec asked dubiously, finding it hard to believe such a thing.
Alec was quiet for a moment, trying not to express the fear that he felt. He was worried for Aaliyah - he was more worried for her than he had ever been for anyone, even before he was changed. "What if she's deep under their control?" he asked quietly, his voice almost a whisper.

"Her parents were the leaders of the human rebellion in that particular city." Biting his lip for awhile before continuing on. "They were captured and tortured. They were changed into Perfects but they were too far gone to remember anything like most. I was the only family they had left but they didn't trust me. As her Uncle I erased her memory of what happened. It was better that way. Her brother was too young to remember anything. That was the worse rebellion by far." He looked down at her.
"I see you care about her. She is not under their control. She's a new perfect so everything is different for her. She has all her memories and those collide with what they want her know making it harder for her." His deep blue eyes looked through the rearview mirror. "Trust me under their control is something you can tell about a Perfect."

His eyes widened slightly upon hearing that Aaliyah's parents were the leaders of a rebellion, and he quickly glanced down at her before looking back up at the man. Suddenly, it all made sense. All of her extreme and stubborn views, and her uncanny knack and need for survival and independence. Sitting in this van, all the pieces seemed to be falling into place. "Wait, she doesn't know?" he asked quietly, surprised by how hard it was for him to speak. He hadn't realized that his mouth had gone dry as the man told his story. What were the odds that her uncle would be the one to find her?
Alec let out a sigh he hadn't even realized he had been holding and looked down at Aaliyah again, taking in her features as she slept. "That's good to know," he breathed quietly, looking out the window as they drove.

Just like he said they drove past human rebels. Aaliyah opened her eyes. She wanted their weak minds. At the same time she knew it was wrong.
He looked up at her. "This is your first test you its okay to lose control no one expects you to be strong. By letting go you can accept who you are" He said. "You shouldn't be ashamed by fighting it you are making things worse."
"I'm suppose to accept this? I'm a monster I really want to destroy the humans." Aaliyah was fully rested as it didn't take her long to rest once she fell asleep. "Alec tell him he is wrong that I'm a perfects are...." It was too late she wanted the human no matter what. She was far from accepting who she was but just to have control over something. "Let me go" She screamed.
As he kept driving. "You failed the only reason who stop fighting is because you felt good about controlling the human. There is fine difference between accepting it and become a monster. You have to realize that you need to take care of yourself for now. You have so many people to help you. I hope you learned a good lesson for your first training exercise. I will leave you guys off at the cabin where we take perfects that need training. The first training begins in the morning 8 a.m sharp in the dome" He said and stopped.
By the time she got to where they were she was clamed down. As the car stopped. Once she got out she waited for Alec to be by her side. "Alec he wasn't right. He was lying." Even though she knew this rebel leader was right.
Looking down not wanting to speak as she walked to the cabin. "Alec I want to go home. I want to control humans. I want to forget. I don't want this. How can I accept? How can I learn? I was taught to hate who I am. I was taught not to depended on anyone." Pausing.
"He's right I like controlling people. Its fun and so easy I could take yours right now. It makes me forget everything." She looked at him. "I'm horrible for this." She sat down on the step. "Alec is it bad to accept being a perfect?" Her eyes wondering up to him pretty blue color. Looking so innocent yet so damage.

Immediately Alec looked down, already being well aware of the fact that no one had counted on her being changed. A wave of guilt rushed over him again, and he was again left regretting his decision to change her. Alec merely nodded when the man spoke again and tightened his hold on her, making sure that she wouldn't be able to escape if she tried to.
He opened his mouth to respond to Aaliyah but didn't get the chance to say anything before she began to yell and try to break free. He tightened his hold slightly, enough so that she wouldn't escape but not so much that he would seriously hurt her. He didn't even say anything at this point, only half listening to the man as he talked to Aaliyah and explained what was about to happen.
When the car stopped Alec stepped out of it, wearily looking around before turning his attention to Aaliyah, whom he realized had began talking. "He wasn't lying, Aaliyah," Alec responded simply, sounding almost as tired as he felt.
"This is going to be your home now, Aaliyah," he replied, looking over at her once more as they walked forward towards the cabin. "You have to accept it and you have to learn. The people here know what they're doing."
Alec was silent for a moment, looking down at Aaliyah as she sat down on the step before silently joining her there. He was silent for a moment and then looked down at her, unable to ignore the pain and damage that was evident in her eyes. "Do you think I'm bad?" he asked her quietly.

It did cross her mind especially at first that he was a monster. After all she was a rebel human and he was a Perfect. But there was something about him the cold eyes, the muscles, personality, or whatever the reason was something drew her in to him Heat rose in her cheeks just thinking about a possibility of a relationship with him. This was no time for her thinking about a relationship let alone with him. Why this thought even crossing her mind? It was probably from her being a new Perfect and new feelings.
"I don't think you are bad. I did think you were monster before all of these. Perfects are monsters, that is what I know, but I don't think you are bad." The day she got captured was a blurred the only thing she felt was the feelings of that day. Something about those feelings made her think that he wasn't bad. "It is hard to explain, but the day you captured me. There was just something that makes me think you aren't bad. Not to mention after that. You were just so nice to me. You still are. There's just something about you."
"I am not sure if I can accept this yet." Tears ran down her face. "I am sorry." She wasn't used to crying. It was easy for her to put on a brave facade, but ever since she was changed her emotions were a roller coaster. Everything was on overload. "I am not normally like this. Expect being stubborn and fighter. Which is all I have been since I regain my memories. " A smile appeared on her face through the tears. "This is really hard on me, but I am going to try, so please bare with me."
The government building let out fumes that kept perfects under their control. Unfortunately new perfects were made to be addicted to it. It didn't help that she was a new perfect and away from the government building. For a quick moment she sensed that Alec was tired as well. It was not just her. "I been talking a lot lately about me, you're tired too. I forgot to take in your feelings too. One last thing why is the world spinning?" For the first time Aaliyah was showing her sweet and caring side to someone other than her brother. It was the least she could do considering Alec left everything for her, a girl he barley knew.

His grey eyes widened slightly in surprise as she continued to speak - despite the fact that he had helped her it still surprised him to know that she didn't think that he was bad. That was a step up in his book and was a step closer to actual friendship. Alec didn't know how to tell her that he was sorry for what he had done, and he didn't think that there was any point in saying it anyway. Whether he was sorry or not, nothing could change the fact that she was now a prefect. All he could try to do was help her get through this and help her learn to hide and control her powers like he did.
Alec shook his head at her when she spoke again. "You don't have to accept it yet," he told her. His voice was quiet and gentle and there was no trace of hurt in it. He didn't expect her to accept everything just yet. If he was being completely honest with himself, he didn't expect her to ever truly forgive him for what he had done. He had changed everything for her, and he wasn't convinced it was a positive change. In fact, looking at her he could only believe that it was a negative one.
"I'll be here," Alec said solemnly. "I'll be here to help you through it as long as you want me." He smiled a bit when she stopped to think about him, but he hadn't even been thinking about himself. He would deal with his exhaustion once she was taken care of. "It's being away from the government buildings," he explained. "They let out fumes to help keep the new perfects under control. Your body is conditioned to be used to them. It's hard being away from them, especially so when you're in such an exhausted state." It wasn't affecting him as much since he was no longer a newborn and didn't need the fumes in order to regulate his own emotions, but it was weird - and relieving - to be completely away from them.

The right words wouldn't form in her mind to explain that she didn't hate him. Maybe she couldn't forgive 100% just yet, but she wasn't completely upset as she was a few days ago. "You were just doing what you needed to do to survive. If the government found out that you were even a slightest bit lucid. Who knows what they would have done to you? We would have the same fate, Alec." She shook her head dwelling on the past wasn't going to get them anywhere.
There was something about his calm voice that made her feel safe. "Are you smiling? I don't think I caught a smile from you." Or maybe she did and didn't just remember it. Fumes from the building that made sense. That would explain how they kept almost all of the Perfects in tact. Aaliyah wasn't sure how to respond next or even to. The idea disgusted her, but part of her needed to go back. She needed the fumes, which didn't sit well with. There was no way to escape from where she was, but maybe if she ran for it they could help her. It felt like she was torn between herself and being a Perfect.
Alec didn't need to bother by how she felt he was completely exhausted as well. The urge for the fumes started to grow bigger. "It's really hard not to think about them Alec. I feel like I really need them. Though that is completely irrational they would make things worse. I am not me near them. I am me, but not completely me" she whispered softly. The world continue to spin she moved to the cabin slowly. Every fiber in her body wanted to make it to the bed in the cabin on her own.
The rebel leader told her that it was okay and she shouldn't be ashamed of it. It was just a nasty habit that she had after being on her own with her brother for so long. Before she could ask for help she collapsed on the ground. Her mind went blank as sleep called to her. The rebel leader and Alec was right she needed to focus on herself for once in her life. There was tons of people around her that are willingly to help her. Then she can focus on building her relationship with her brother and fighting the government.
"They won't let me in you have to use my power to control me. You have to control me" she said. "Until I can use my powers without hurting anyone." She said.
