You like Chelsea Quinn Yarbro too? I so loved Atta Olivia Clemens! I could re-read the Saint Germain series over and over again and never be bored.

Savannah- Quad Motherin' Book Readin' Diva (quadmom2005) | 19 comments I agree about BDB. Those first 5-6 are some of my faves.

I also get a kick out of rereading the Troubleshooters series.

Tia (mrsbombayjr) | 1 comments The only paranormal vamp serries I've ever read that had an African American vamp and a Latin vamp would be the Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrain. The Africian American vamp was Brock and the Latin was Rio. In regards to the BDB I love the series and would hope eventually that Ms. Ward would add some diversity. Although I still don''t think main stream book readers are open to diversity.

Donna | 1 comments Can I just say the comments on BDB had me dying! I felt the same way too, noticing the constant reference to black culture without actually to have us in the book!

Anyway...Kenya Wright's Habitat Series. Super diverse characters and great world-building! I'm so obsessed with these books/her that I probably reread too often

I just finished the most recent Jane Yellowrock book and I want to start all over.

Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews is also another great one. If you're looking for a series with a black vampire try Urban Vampire series by Pepper Pace

The Midnight Breeds books are very diverse and one that I like to re-read. In addition to Brock and Rio there was also Claire Roth whose book was Ashes of Midnight (Midnight Breed, #6) by Lara Adrian who was bi-racial (AA and Caucasian) and Savannah who was AA and married to Gideon A Touch of Midnight by Lara Adrian

I almost choked on my coffee! That face!
I haven't read that series yet. Honestly I'm kind of scared to. One of these days I'm going to go ahead and give it a try just to form my own opinion 'cause folks feel strongly about it one way or another. I've only read one book by that author The Grunt by Latrivia S. Nelson and I'm seriously considering her latest book Highness (The Lonely Heart Series) by Latrivia S. Nelson .

Monique (mfh2161) | 54 comments Okay...after seeing all of the positive comments and favorable reviews about the character Jane Yellowrock...I will start reading the series lol

Kholofelo | 5 comments I tried The Black Dagger Brotherhood series, read a few books but I couldn't finish the series, The Mr Os, and Mr Cs, got a bit too much for me. I'm obsessed with Immortals After Dark by Kresley Cole, but the few last books felt rushed: I'll admit that.

Andrea Jackson (paperbackdiva) | 94 comments I'll support the 'I like what I like' train. We can all still respect each other, even if their taste HORRIFIES us! :)

I admit to loving the Immortals After Dark series. I recommend them all the time, reread all the books and I have the series' new releases on my auto-buy list. But the lack of diversity in culture as well as body type is a sore subject. I deal with it by making my own mental picture of what the characters look like. It's just not sexy to me to have these hulking men with these tiny women. I keep thinking "Now that can't be comfortable..."

message 61: by Monique (new)

Monique (mfh2161) | 54 comments I agree, Andrea. The hulking men and tiny women pairings are irritating to me as well. Give us some tall and/or curvy women who can keep up with the hulks...lol!

message 62: by Kolby (new)

Kolby (kolbyirish) | 2 comments I keep rereading the Gargoyle's series by Nia K. Foxx.

I will constantly reread any series done by Theodora Taylor. I've been hesitant to read the Medlov series, but I may give it a try.

I've enjoyed Kaye Blue's mob boss series because the description of the heroine is more to my taste.

Helloooo!!! How could I forget Aliyah Burke's Megalodon series!!!! Soooo good!
