I just found out about this challenge on Nov 18th. I finally got around to checking my Goodreads list on the 24th, and found that I had actually read books in 24 of the categories. A lot of my books overlapped some of the categories. That feels like a waste. Anyway, I hope to finish at least 10 more categories before the year's end. Glad to be here among you in this challenge.

Lol I actually did that in 2015, but I was doing the challenge I just didn't know about the group!
Same here - I started marking things off on the Popsugar list sometime around mid-September, but haven't posted on the post-your-lists thread yet. I'm wondering if it's too late to do so now.

In all seriousness, the only time it is too late is if the thread is locked. You are always welcome to contribute to any open thread no matter when you come into the group.
Same here - I only just found this challenge and group. But I have been doing my own challenge all year anyway. I have a blog about it because I wanted to record what I had read through the year. My only problem was that for every challenge I set myself I ended up getting 3 or 4 books because there are just too many good books out there! :) I have read lots of interesting books I would never have thought about reading as a result though, so I am up for another challenge for next year. Have to try and not get distracted by other books though :)
I accidently discovered one more book that I read this year that I was able to check off. While looking at the title in the library catalog, the tags for my book were:Priests -- Crimes against -- Fiction.
Murder -- Investigation -- Fiction.
Serial murderers -- Fiction
Detective and mystery stories.
I think this qualifies for the Murder Mystery category. I was actually in the library catalog so that I could find a good one to read before year's end. I can now put that time to use on another category. I have to pore over my Goodreads list again to make sure that I haven't overlooked any more titles.
