2017 Personal Challenge
We allow anything that Goodreads counts as a book, so audiobooks are definitely fair game! I count them in my challenge, even though I don't listen to audiobooks as much as I used to.Good luck!

James, I agree with Kadjah, even if you only read one book its makes you a winner because you were able to enjoy a moment of learning, escape, travel, adventure or whatever within the covers of that book.
To me a loser is someone who doesn't read or can't read for they are missing out on a lot of learning and adventure.
Good reading this year to all.
Going to try for 100 books for 2017. Set this years at 54 and actually read 89 due to being on and off unemployed. So had the time. Hopefully I will do the 100 now im back working.
I'm going for 70 in 2017, went for 60 at first this year and thought I was going to finish too early so I upped it to 80 and then I fell behind and will end the year at 56 or 57 if I'm lucky so I'm going to try for 70 and see what happens.
I'm going for 120 in 2017. I stumbled a bit this year bc of a couple annoying reading slumps so I'm looking forward to picking it up a little.
I can't post my personal challenge. It said that I have to verify my email first.. could you help me?
Rizki wrote: "I can't post my personal challenge. It said that I have to verify my email first.. could you help me?"Try again. This seems to be a regular thing with Goodreads.
Rizki wrote: "I can't post my personal challenge. It said that I have to verify my email first.. could you help me?"You can go here and click 're-send verification email' if you can't find it or don't seem to have received one.

Hi Alicia, a couple posts above, Janine has a link that helped out another member. If it doesn't, please email support@goodreads.com.
My 2016 goal was 60, but I have surpassed that and read 83 books this year! Next year I will shoot for 75.
Thanks, Cassandra! Yes, I was able to get in with the link you gave Rizki! I had not updated my email since I got rid of my Comcast account several years ago! I am now in (but the reply saying I got in did not make it!)
I will attempt 100. This is my second full year at this; in 2016 I tried for 150, but then reduced my goal to 100 when I realized I wasn't going to make it. Winning is everything! Seriously though, I just didn't want to get stressed out or start bypassing longer books I'd otherwise read. But I love these challenges, they help keep me motivated, and I'm getting great recommendations from the people here. :-) Cheers and good luck everyone -- J.
I'm pushing the boat out this year and going for 200 books! I will be re-reading the entire Sweet Valley series this year so hopefully this won't prove too difficult!
Attempting 45 books this year. My plan is to catch up on all the different series I've started and not finished due to getting sidetracked by challenges! This year not doing as many challenges, so I can knock a bunch of those out.
I have been trying to post my 2017 Personal Challenge but each time I do it requires me to verify my email even though I am logged in. Can you help?
Hi Jae,You can go to your settings and click "re-send verification email" if you didn't get one or can't find it.

lol! James, that's how I feel when I read all the 100+ goals. I have no clue how they do it. I'm going for 20 again this year. My 2015 goal was 25 and I just reached it in the nick of time....and only because I had the most mellow job ever and spent 4 hours a night reading on the job :P
Elizabeth wrote: "Is the 2017 Challenge available yet or am I just blind and can't find it?"All I found was '' available January 1st 2017'' and if I remember correctly, I stayed up till midnight last NYE so I could set my new goal. Apparently I'm a party animal.
Ooh, that's actually a great idea! I don't really have any New Year's Eve plans but I need to stay up in case my mom comes over after work.Ring in the new year with a... book? :)

Thank you Janine.

I'm new here and happy to be here as well, my goal this year is to read twenty books, I hope I will manage it.
Stephanie wrote: "I'm new here and happy to be here as well, my goal this year is to read twenty books, I hope I will manage it."Welcome Stephanie :) You can do it! Most find that reading and talking books with other like minded tend to spike their numbers :)

Thank you very much! I hope you'll be right and that it will work.
I chose 3 different lists that I found on the web (popsugar, bookriots and books and ladders...) and I kind of combined them to make a mega list. I chose 50 books for this year but I'm going to fit it on to my mega list - is there a place that I should post on here? Sorry - I joined this group and then got engaged. This means, I started wedding planning and never turned back...any help would be greatly appreciated!
I feel so small with 14 books as my goal. Thats me being fair on myself lol realistically i was thinking of 6 or 7 since i have only read 6 books last year xD
Hi - coming in at the lowest end - my goal is 8 this year. I am getting back into reading and am going to try to do about one / month. Hopefully I'll beat the goal but I thought I'd start with something realistic.
I am going for just 26 books this year, I used to love reading before I had my children but found that I never had the time to pick up a good book, but this year I am going to make an effort and try to find my love of reading again!!

I my reading goal for 2017 is probably going to be 100 books even I'm not sure if I can really reach it though
Have a nice day :)
