I stayed up looking at internships and part-time jobs the other night, but even though I felt like I had applied to many, turns out I had only applied to two. This morning, I got a text with further details on the selection process. I had to write about iOS 14.5 version, but when I finally finished it, I composed the cover letter and sent it without attaching the fucking article. This is why I'm a failure -_-
My other application is under review, but I don't think I'll get either.

I simply cannot decide! I have so many designs in mind xD I definitely want something with stars! And perhaps roses. And certainly the word 'insouciant'. And then there is this plethora of other designs that I've got to choose from.

Okay, so far, the head of team is a bitch who had kicked out at least three other people after I've joined and it's confusing. Also, it looks like the company is hiring again but my application says 'Not selected' even though I have the job and need to start tomorrow? Very confusing and I'm low-key tensed its a very organized scam.
It's my parents' wedding anniversary. Fun.
Trying to understand how they are still married is beyond my ability to think.
I mean, 29 years with a partner you explicitly dislike. How?
Before someone comes at me with the 'You should be happy that your parents are still together because divorce takes a toll on the kids blah blah', no, it's not any better when your parents are still married but super toxic and are always at each other's throats. That takes a toll on the kids, too.
Although it's kind of funny that my parents got married 5 days before Valentine's Day. I cannot even imagine 1992 anymore...

Also, earlier today, I overheard Mum tell her friend that when she gave birth to me and the nurses announced that she had a girl, she cried because she didn't want a girl. Ouch, Mum!
On the other hand, my dad likes to believe that sons are idiots and daughters are cool.

I have 120 articles to write. So far, I've done 8. 112 more to go. Fuck my life.
Internship Nightmares
I wrote a draft for an article and when I ran it through their plagiarism detector, it showed 56% plagiarized. We're allowed 25% plagiarism detection (because usually facts get detected as plagiarism and sometimes it's impossible to change it completely). I literally tore apart Emma Watson's life history (sorry Emma!) to rewrite and bring it up to 85% unique. I edited the article and replaced it with the new one, ran it through the detector once again and it showed 75% unique. Strange, but okay...
However, when I submitted it, the draft got submitted instead of the original article. I don't understand why. I didn't even realize until 5 am when I opened my messages to see that she wanted me to rewrite it due to 44% plagiarism. I looked at the screenshot she sent, and it was the draft article.
So I explained to her that it was the draft and something went wrong during the submission process after I corrected it. She said, 'No, it can't be corrected. You need to rewrite it.' Bitch, I did. So I tried explaining again that there are two versions on my dashboard and due to some technical issue, she had received the wrong one. Bitch cannot understand English. 'What are you talking about, Hallie? I need you to rewrite this article.'
So I told her that I submitted it hours ago and showed her a screenshot in the detector, too. Finally she said okay. Ugh. I want to tell her, 'Bitch, with absolutely no respect, learn to read. I explained three times in plain English and you can't understand. How did you become a content writer without being able to understand basic English?' If I don't get fired, I'll tell her on my last day. I'm having actual nightmares from this.
I cannot be getting another wisdom tooth! :/
Come on, teeth. I'm only 19 and I already got one at 19. We need the ones that already exist to close the extraction spaces - not new ones.

This woman kept yelling at some of the interns, including me, with: 'What are you waiting for? Christmas? Do this fast.' And for the second day in a row, she didn't update my topics at my scheduled slot. I'm resisting the urge to say, 'Well, what are you waiting for? Christmas? Update the topics, you idiot.'
Should I just quit? I'm getting way too stressed at this point.
Well, I got fired for 'creating chaos' by showing evidence that the plagiarism detector tool is wonky and all the interns are suffering due to it. Apparently it's unacceptable to tell her that in front of everyone when she can yell at us and be sarcastic to newcomers before the whole group. Talk about hypocrisy.

Well,
• I got the got back the same night I was fired.
• Vandalised by own house the night before.
• Starved myself the entire day and survived on a glass of water and half a glass of horrible tasting iced tea
• Feeling pretty down and sick
• Uni may or may not started next week and I'm not sure how to handle uni and the internship
• Brother's birthday tomorrow (holy shit, my idiot is turning 28??? But he's just a kid. I babysit him every day even when his parents are home.)
• According to my mum, I'm definitely getting my second wisdom tooth seven months after the first. Fun. This pandemic has been here so long that I'll have two more teeth by the end of it.
• I'm tired.
So it's my brother's birthday and it's so hard to not insult him every three seconds.
No, pointing out that he looked like Kakashi from Naruto is not an insult. It's a compliment.
I have no motivation to live. I just really want to drop dead.
The internship has been a tad bit less stressful relative to what it was in the first week (I get to finish my work in the morning and chill during the rest of the day), but it's still a drag. I tried putting up some reminders in my worksheet, but I've only finished 15 days when I'm supposed to be there for 60. That's just quarter the time :(

I mean, so is the present generation, except now I'm one of the assholes, too.

Flimsy Reason
At work, I had to write about Sex Education Season 3 on Wednesday and it even got published. I got the same topic again today, so I told the manager and asked for a new topic. Guess what he said.
"I gave that to you for a reason."
Sir! -_- So I asked what that reason was. And he replied that he wants the latest updates and that I should remember to include the release date.
Netflix hasn't decided when they are going to release it. How the fuck do I come up with it?
I explained to the guy that I had written it exactly 3 days ago, and nothing - absolutely nothing has changed in the past 72 hours. Moreover, another guy had also been given the same topic that day, so on Wednesday, there were two articles published on Sex Education Season 3. And he wanted me to write it again :/
He changed the topic, but now it was the same topic I wrote about almost a month ago during the first few days at the job. I didn't feel like arguing again, so I've basically submitted a revised version of the same article since there are no new updates on that either.
Geez, I'm so done with this job!
I'm supposed to receive my payment on Tuesday, but I'm not sure how it all go. Also, I still have no idea whether I should continue. It stresses me out way too much because the pay is not worth the effort I have to put into the job and the job is so repetitive and boring, but if I quit, I won't get the certificate. My classmate says it doesn't matter if I don't get it, but that's still a little bit of extra money. Is it worth staying for, though? I have no idea.
I told my mum I'm going to cut my hair, so she said she'd do it for me because "I wouldn't be able to". Well, she completely ruined it and I hate her and the whole fucking world.
I tried to part it and it was so uneven, so I asked her what the fuck she did, and the woman legit says, "That's how it is for everyone."
The front was literally longer than the back and she says that's how hair will be when you part it. No, Mum, you can never touch my hair ever again -_-
This is why I hate letting others handle my hair.
