Hallie (inkyhallie) | 16412 comments So today, P and I walked out of the classroom in the middle of the hour, ate something, and came back to the same as though nothing happened.

And we were forced to help decorate for the film festival, but all they were doing is rolling paper. I stayed long enough to skip a class with an annoying teacher, and then got the heck out of there. Too much French talk, and I was so lonely and out of place there that I just grabbed my bag and walked out without a word, and not a single person wanted me there.

Lights! Camera! Action!

This was such a long week! I barely had proper classes, and my exams have been pre-poned, so now that's horrible :/

Anyway, the day before yesterday, my Literature teacher asked if anyone had read past chapter 31, and of course there was only me. People barely read. So she asked how much I read, and I said, "I finished the book." Well, the whole class started staring at me all weird, and the teacher said, "Why are you all looking at her like that? She did nothing wrong! She didn't nothing wrong!" And yesterday, she even said that she would give me books to read if I was interested. Yes, she is pretty annoying at times, but she is a good teacher, though.

Remember I got kicked out of content team for the film festival. Well, they ended up using me anyway yesterday. P and I skipped theatre to go help segregate registrations according to events, but when we got there, the lists had not arrived yet. While we were waiting, two of our classmates were trying to write a script for a 30 second video telling people to check the highlights for the event details. They begged us to help them, so we were thinking when C arrived, too.

He finally got this idea, which we eventually managed to expand. By then, the lists had arrived, but we also needed a script. P and one girl grabbed the segregation lists, while C and the other girl were already forced to do the script. C just looked at me and said, "Hallie, you're with us." We were interrupted for a bit, and I was thinking of ways to get out when C said, "Okay, you people do the lists, we'll write the script. Hallie, come here!"

I knew I would be of no help and said that I'm not good at these stuff, but he said that none of them were. So yep, the three of us just sat there trying to improvise. We had two ideas, but the more plausible and fun one could not be done because the editing team refused to do much editing, which the idea required to a great extent. We thought of another idea as well, while the editing team said they could incorporate, but then we realized that we can't do it because they haven't put up the updates that we need to show. Eventually, we just ended up making it goofy.

Person A sits all alone staring into the distance, eating a bag of chips. Voice over of him thinking about the hype and what he can do at our festival. Person B pops. Yes, pops. We wanted to do an animated text thing, but couldn't. So person B explains the rest, grabs the packet of chips while Person A wonders where Person B came from.

C managed to think of dialogues for Person A, but when it came to Person B, we were just blocked. So I began to dictate a dialogue and both of them were like, "Go on go on go on! Keep it rolling!" And we got a bit more. Then the other girl tried to incorporate the phrase 'behind the scenes', but ended up being "whatever happens behind the scenes", which was so weird we kept laughing. Then there was this whole discussion on who should play the roles, and that's when P and C kept looking at me like, "Hey, Hallie should do it!!!!!! It would be perfect, lol!"

Screw you!

And yesterday was the day C realized that I'm Welsh. He asked if I can understand it, and upon learning that I can (ish), he was happy that he could now speak it with ease since the other girl is also Welsh. And at one point, he was talking about how preposterous his email address became after he became a good Christian boy, and P said, "And you say this with an atheist sitting right beside you." He replied, "Atheists are cool, man! They're so cool! They're logical and blah blah blah!" I almost died in that room.

When we finally got the script approved, we did a fist bump because such a lame thing just got approved. C was person A and the other girl, person B. It was after a great deal of C's: "You're all the apples of my eyes! Beautiful! Beautiful!" The others were shooing away the marketing team and we were setting up the green screen when C asked me, "Do you know a guy named *insert Coffee Boy's name*?" I'm just like, "Yeah." Like I did not spend months trying to figure out how they knew each other, and eventually learnt it when I was drunk. "How?" "*insert uni name*" "I met him at *insert another uni name*" "I know." Soon, we had finished setting up when we decided to change the "whatever happens behind the scenes" part. I immediately suggested that we could replace it with something like "the fun behind the scenes", and C said, "Perfect! This is why we need you."

And then we filmed that. I was termed the 'rich girl' when C created a whole Oscar winning scene in how he has to spend his last note on chips and I said I'd sponsor because I can't take the fake crying anymore. It took half an hour to film that 30 second video, and I'm not even sure if they're going to put it up, but if they do, I'll be laughing like crazy.

Day 1

Today is day 1 of our film festival. A friend and I spent two hours watching how disorganised the whole department was. We just kept judging these chaotic moments. Also, I totally went against the dress code they had for today, and only the students noticed. Then had a conversation with the same friend about drugs. What am I doing these days? P and I had been to the media studio even before people started working, and one of my seniors pointed at me and said, "You were the best in the video we shot yesterday." We were supposed to point and yell "Are you ready?" and then raise our hands and wave. I barely showed any enthusiasm, and he happened to noticed the energy I had. He couldn't stop laughing, though. He said that another classmate of mine, one classmate of his, and I were the most entertaining people in that video. Screw it.

When the event finally started (40 minutes late), my friends were taking selfies and they tried to include me - except I looked like I was done with life. The funniest part of the whole inaugural ceremony was that when the three guests spoke, we stayed and listened, but when the chancellor of the uni board went up to speak, people just left - me included. Boy, he was pissed, but I'd honestly be surprised if anyone actually stayed. He is a self-centred asshole who can only ramble bullshit every time he opens his mouth, so for both his sake and ours, I'm glad we left.

The reason I left was because I wanted to participate in a F.R.I.E.N.D.S quiz with P, but as soon as I got there, I tried to quit. The hosts are actually my classmates, so they legit pulled me back every time I tried to escape from there. Never should have signed up for it. And then I chocked on a fucking Dorito and people thought I was crying from anxiety before the quiz. On a sitcom. Gosh I hate myself. Obviously, we didn't clear the first round and I'm afraid the hosts are internally laughing at me forever....

We're supposed to be at a movie right now, but I decided to watch P at an open mic event instead. Things are getting kind of messy. Someone criticized another participant's performance through freestyle rap, and another guy said that fat people are often seen as a 'third gender'. This triggered my senior, who is trans, and they (I'm not sure of their pronouns, so I'm going with trans) walked out before coming back in and telling the guy that he was offended. When this conversation was going on, one of my classmates said, "Can we do this later?" And then some others started booing, so the senior who is trans got more offended and yelled at the spectators.

But I agree with them. We don't know what shit they goes through every single day. We don't know how hard they struggle. Someone tried to explain that the guy only meant it as a joke and even applauded that them by saying that we are proud of their bravery to stand up, but the senior said they didn't want a bravery award. Clearly, they were sick of this bullshit. And it's just sad to see that all people from the LGBTQ+ community have to constantly explain to people that they have rights. It must be exhausting and frustrating, and the fact that this is still prevalent even to this day shows how pathetic the society is.

Hallie (inkyhallie) | 16412 comments P kept dubiously shutting down my assertions that I'd be better off living away from my family, saying that she had said the same thing before she experienced living away from them.

Well, if you think I'm going to miss my dad yelled at my mum about her, my brother, and me, gaslight us, emotionally blackmail us because we're "holding this family back from growing" every day from 3 am to 6:30 am, and then after he comes back home again, you're fucking wrong.

message 24280: by Esther (new)

message 24281: by Hallie (new)

Hallie (inkyhallie) | 16412 comments Unconsciousness and death are two different things.

That did give me an idea, but it takes more than just an instant.

message 24282: by Esther (new)

Esther | 251 comments I didn't like death so I gave the next best thing. And my idea gave you an idea, so everything worked out.

Hallie (inkyhallie) | 16412 comments Nope, it didn't, but thanks anyway.

24. Plan on getting married: I'd like to remain a spinster unless the right person comes after I get my 3 Ph.Ds, a high paying job, 6 cars, and a huge mansion with a large library. Honestly, I don't think I'm actually fond of the idea of getting married on the first place.

26. First kiss: None.

49. Embarrassing moments: Oh, I have plenty, but for this question, I'm going to share the time when S and I went exploring our school on the first day of fifth grade, and we accidentally entered the boys lavatory. And got caught by an annoying senior who would have mocked us more if we hadn't fled.
