No, they don't. I'm not sure whether it's an inbuilt thing or whether it's because I played with the settings, but I don't receive any emails for notifications. However, they do send emails sometimes when you need to login, so those are the only emails I receive from Discord.

The Ship Story
This poem is the out pouring of a sorrowful tale,
Of the lonely ship, in the big ocean, does it sail.
Although no creature does it encounter and see,
Sailing against the wind, it does remain free.
But soon an Island comes into her view,
What is this place, she doesn't have a clue.
Perhaps this island for her is heaven's decree,

Okay, my brother is searching for other books, so I checked it out a bit. Apparently you might get them, but you can turn them off. It's explained here. If you don't login often or the first time you login, you might get emails due to a detection new location (even though I do it from the same spot every single time), and because it might want to confirm that you're not a robot. It might not happen often for you, but it does to me. I can't login in unless I go to the email and click on an authorisation link, but if I keep myself logged in, or log in very frequently, it does not send out emails.
