Brother: Salicylic acid.
Me: We don't have Salicylic acid.
Brother: Hmmmm..... MgSO4.
Me: Damn it! It's the longest salt!

Well dammit!!! Then I will have to get very creative with the girls then....

I am sot stressed about it; all my muscles are tense.... GAH

Sorry I've got to go inside the lab. I'll probably talk be back in an hour or two.

And merp - it probably won't; but thanks anyways
Good luck! I won't be back until about 7-10 hours from now....
*cries*

almost same, mine passed away on March 18, which sadly was my Grandmas birthday... and right before mine, so i am dreading March

Concentrated Acid Burns
Let's talk about today. My brother and I got tea that didn't lemon in it (we had lemon tea five times yesterday! Five! Courtesy of Dad!) My mum called in the morning and kept annoying me like, "Did you study? Don't mess up. Blah blah blah. I bet you're on your phone right now not studying." Which is annoying mainly because I haven't really screwed up Chemistry lab this year. I was lucky both times, yes, but I still got almost perfect scores.
My brother, as mentioned earlier, didn't go to work, and she came to know about it only when she asked whether he had left - to which I said no. She told me to give the phone to him, and after they finished talking, he gave the phone back to me. Mum was supposed to have hung up, but she didn't, and we evil kids muted the noise on our side and continued to listen to her talk to someone there (probably grandma or one of my aunts). It was hilarious!
Then I went to school for the damned exam - saw M at the entrance, but both of us where talking to someone on the phone, so I just went to class and tried to study. That's when my watch stopped working right, so I had to use my phone to check when to leave. Anyway, once again, I was all alone. I also saw Iz outside the Biology lab and wished her luck (and nearly got lost).
Anyway, my seat was second in the lab, and it was near the fuming chamber where all the chemicals were kept, and that was great! I won't have to bump into people, or nearly spill chemicals on others. All the materials we need were already placed, so we didn't hand to run around for that either. The salt was in this small container, and whilst the teachers were giving instructions, I kept opening and inspecting it, and eventually speculated it is Magnesium sulphate - the salt my brother predicted I would get. It's not because of the prediction; they tried to make it hard to recognize by powdering it, but that salt is usually long, cylindrical and shiny, and the shine was still there. Also, they couldn't powder all of it, so there were still some long, cylindrical grains that I meticulously observed.
Titration, for the first time, didn't make me look like I was going to die. I always struggle with the pipette, and albeit I did struggle, I had my own solution this time, and that made me struggle a little less. I took about half an hour for that. Magnesium sulphate is actually the longest salt that we have, but we would be given a hint if we were wrong, so I quickly analyzed it and went to confirm it with the teacher, who then told me to continue writing. Since it was long and I write really slow, it took me about half an hour to write it up. When I handed it over, she asked me the questions for 4 marks, and she asked me about 6-7 questions! Like why?! I was stammering, so she told me to relax. Oh, and during the analysis, I might or might not have accidentally poured concentrated sulphuric acid on my ring finger. It was itchy and irritating, and now it shows minor peeling of the skin in that area, but it's fine. And yes, this masochist did nothing about it. Didn't even try to wash it.
Then I went to the canteen and called Mum while having lunch and told her it went well. Then she was like, "I'm coming back the day after," and I could help but start feeling scared. I want her to come back, but I'm not looking forward to what my dad will rant.... Oh, and I was in the subway when that idiot brother of mine called and he said that he was yet to go out for lunch! Like seriously? I left the lab at 1:30, had lunch, and am halfway home, and he still hasn't eaten?!?! He asked which salt I got, and when I said it was the one he said I would get, he laughed and said, "See? I told you. You should have just studied whatever I said." There are 10 salts, and somehow he managed to guess it right!
I got off the subway, missed one bus back home, caught the next one, and finally got off at the stop when I saw my brother on his way to eat. He was with his back turned, but obviously I'll recognize that idiot from anywhere. I tried calling him, but he didn't pick up, so I legit ran to catch up with him. I went from behind and tapped his shoulder, and he freaked and yelled, "You scared me! Again!" Yep, second time I'm scaring him the exact same way in the past three days xP
I asked him what he was going to eat, and he said he decided that pancakes were the safest in his condition, so I tagged along. He bought to pancakes, but before he had finished quarter of the first one, he was like, "Uh Hal, you might need to help me finish the second one." These pancakes are pretty small, so one is hardly filling. My mum war reprimanding me for having only two for breakfast today because I usually have four, so imagine one. Then he was like, "I can't believe I'm asking you to help me finish off my food." I grinned and said, "Oh, the irony!" He shrugged and said, "Usually I'm the one finishing your leftovers. Everyone is always finishing your leftovers. Look at what's happening now." And yep, he had one and I had one.
Whilst we were going back, my brother said, "Yeah, so tell Dad I had the pancakes," to which I replied, "One pancake." He was like, "Well, he doesn't have to know that." You bet. "I'm going to use this against you for the rest of your life. I'm going to tell your kids and grandkids and embarrass you forever!" But I said that in my head so no one what heard it but me.
So now here I am dancing around at home. He might go to work tomorrow, and then I'll be able to curl up into a ball of disappointment.
Its probably......really....sarcastic.
