message 2: by Heather (new)

Heather (georgouschaos) Name: Hades
» Alias: Pluto; Orcus; "The Hospitable One"

Gender: Male

Species: Deity
» Planet: Pluto
» Element: Fire

Personality: Despite popular belief, and being associated with evil for being the keeper of the Underworld, Hades is a just god who believes in balance, but has no tolerance for any who try to escape from his domain or cheat death, and quickly becomes enraged when someone attempts to do so. He finds joy in being feared and doesn't seem to mind that most see him as a demonic deity, and has become quite comfortable with the role he has been given. He is also quick witted and humorously sarcastic if one happens to catch the dark ruler in a charismatic mood.
Trait 1: Morbid
Trait 2: Unpitying
Trait 3: Ill-tempered
Trait 4: Snide
Trait 5: Just

Appearance:

Height: 6'11"
Weight: 285lbs
Hair colour: black
Skin colour: grey
Eyes: amber
Body type: muscular
Pitch of voice: gruff; menacing
Distinguishable markings: his massiveness

Weakness(es): selfish lust for dead souls; riches; Persephone; possessive.

Strength(s): manipulative; tactfulness; trickery; intensely passionate (could also be seen as a weakness); ageless.

Biography/History: For many long years Hades, along with his siblings (with the exception of Zeus), were trapped within the confines of their paranoid father, but upon their release he played many key roles in the battles that ensued between the Titans and Olympians. The gruesome and bloody war lasted for ten years, during which time Hades proved to be a fierce warrior and gallantly fought on behalf of the Olympians, showing no mercy and taking no prisoners. It is said that with the help of his Helm of Darkness that had been gifted to him by the Cyclopes, and which rendered him invisible, Hades had managed to sneak behind enemy lines, destroying their weapons and arguably giving the Olympians the upper hand, inevitably allowing them to defeat their foes. And when the time came for his father’s biggest fear to manifest, it was Hades, with his Helm of Darkness adorned on his head, who caught Cronus off guard long enough for Zeus to deliver the final blow that ended him. After the battle had been won the three brothers drew lots to determine which realm each would rule; Zeus receiving the sky, Poseidon gaining the sea, and Hades drawing last was left with the underworld, which he proudly accepted, holding no bitterness to the fact. Soon after becoming the king of the dead Hades found himself painfully lonely with having no queen; though his riches were immeasurable and his culmination of souls always growing, Hades was depressed to have no one to share his kingdom with. Then upon laying eyes on Persephone he quickly decided that she would be the one to fill that void, and opened the earth beneath her to swallow her whole. Some claim that the dark lord tricked the beautiful woman into eating the seeds of a pomegranate in order to ensure she could never leave him, but Hades knows differently. Persephone consumed the seeds willingly after falling for the feared god, and in doing so, as a sign of good faith, she vowed that she would always return to him; trusting her, she is the only one Hades permits to leave his domain, but never for very long. Their relationship greatly being one of equals, they rule the realm of the dead together as such.

message 3: by Lupine Estill, The Moon Goddess (last edited May 28, 2014 06:49AM) (new)

Lupine Estill (psychesp) | 123 comments Mod
Name: Selene
» Alias: Luna; Phoebe; Mene; The Stainless Queen of Night

Gender: Female

Species: Deity
» Planet: The Moon
» Element: Water

Personality: Selene, much like her essence the moon, is constantly undergoing change. She conducts herself with a wistful grace similar to that of wild animal and her manic depressive tendencies make her extremely challenging to predict. At first glance, the moon goddess may seem rather childlike, but her keen eye passes over no fault and she does not suspend judgement. Once she has formulated an impression of another, it is exceedingly difficult to alter this perception. When seeking her guidance, it is best to win her favor quickly and she will take a proactive role in securing your satisfaction. Otherwise, further initiations of interaction are likely to be met with a cold response at best. Although Selene is one of the few elder gods still worshiped today, her following is small and close, largely composed of young women. Due to this honor, she tends to show some favoritism towards more gentle heroes, particularly those that are female. Additionally, she has a penchant for ritual and is flattered by the proper observation of her prayer and signs. Considered a leading presence, Selene is a particularly knowledgeable individual. However, what little she may share is unclear and likely to sway the receiver of her counsel closer to their fate. As the light of the moon is a reflection of the sun, its light is dim, uncertain, and only vaguely illuminates the path. Such is Selene in essence. She lives between the tame and wild aspects of the mind and sees the shadow of all that is.
Trait 1: Passionate
Trait 2: Devoted
Trait 3: Changing
Trait 4: Nurturing
Trait 5: Righteous

Appearance:

Height: 5'5"
Weight: 124lbs
Hair colour: rich ebony
Skin colour: pale; nearly luminescent
Eyes: clear; crystalline blue
Body type: diminutive stature; naturally curved
Pitch of voice: elegant; persuasive; etherial
Distinguishable markings: Selene is often seen wearing a blue scarf that seems to move independent of her action, as though stirred by a soft breeze. There is no known explanation for this anomaly.

Weakness(es): Endymion; a scrambled perception of time (resulting in confusion and disorientation); emotionally unstable; unable to perceive the faults in those she admires and heavily biased against those she dislikes; unable to leave her followers behind; lonely.

Strength(s): can assess a person not only from their current state but their past and potential deeds; her continued worship (allows for the occasional granting of favors to mortals); diligent and faithful; unwavering.

Biography/History: Selene was born the daughter of Hyperion and Theia and sister to Helios and Eos. Her early life was spent devoted to her duties, alongside her siblings, in driving her oxen drawn chariot across the sky from moonrise to moonset. Although radiant and worshipped, she was not content to simply observe the mortal world from above and ultimately became quite taken with a young mortal shepherd by the name of Endymion. However, Endemyion was rumored to have fallen for the goddess Hera, and requested from his father that he be granted eternal sleep. Overtaken by her love for him, Selene slid down from the heavens to the earth to lie in his embrace for fifty nights in the Latmian cave where he continues to rest. The union resulted in as many children. Since then, she has receded to her place in the sky where she dwells unwavering. Minimizing her contact with mortals, she receives only those who would journey to meet her and her fellow gods as company. Now resigned to her post of observation, she rules the domain of prophecy and guides those in need without enabling weakness.

Relation(s):
» Hyperion - Deity; Deceased; Titan of Watchfulness and Wisdom; Father
» Theia - Deity; Deceased; Titaness of Glory; Mother
» Helios - Deity; Immortal; Titan of the Sun; Brother; Constant Annoyance
» Eos - Deity; Immortal; Titaness of the Dawn; Sister; Confidant
» Zeus - Deity; Immortal; Olympian; One Time Fling
» Hephaestus - Deity; Immortal; God of the Forge; Dear Friend
» Endymion - Demi-God; Artificially Immortal; Son of Zeus; Comatose Consort; First Love
» Lugh - Deity; Immortal; War God; Counterpart; Subject of Fascination

Power(s): As the personification of the moon, Selene exhibits limited hydromancy specific to the accumulation and reflection of water. Additionally, she has prophetic tendencies and may receive jumbled sequences of certain pasts and potential futures involving people and objects in her presence. Occasionally, this gift extends to a perception of overarching events, which contributes to Selene's fluid perception of time and dream like presence.

Weapon(s): At her most temperamental, Selene could potentially drown an individual through the use of her hydromancy. Occasionally, she may send prophecy to her devotees by way of tarot, rune casting, and the like.

Fighting Skill(s): Selene holds minimal desire and potential to be directly involved in warfare, but her presence is a tactical advantage due to her ability to assess the situation at hand from all angles. If the information can be wormed out of her, that is.

Other: "And next, sweet voiced Muses, daughters of Zeus, well- skilled in song, tell of the long-winged Moon. From her immortal head a radiance is shown from heaven and embraces earth; and great is the beauty that ariseth from her shining light. The air, unlit before, glows with the light of her golden crown, and her rays beam clear, whensoever bright Selene having bathed her lovely body in the waters of Ocean, and donned her far-gleaming, shining team, drives on her long-maned horses at full speed, at eventime in the mid-month: then her great orbit is full and then her beams shine brightest as she increases. So she is a sure token and a sign to mortal men." - Homer

Tessa (panicrocks95) | 59 comments Name: Yero
» Alias: Terren Kelly

Gender: Male

Species: Deity
» Planet: Saturn
» Element: Earth

Personality: Terran remembers everything, every detail of everything he's ever done, and everyone he's ever seen, though most wouldn't know it. Normally he seems very distracted, like his mind is constantly somewhere else, but whether he does it consciously or not he is always taking in every little detail about anything that's going on.
Trait 1: Seemingly absentminded
Trait 2: Quiet
Trait 3: Easily Excited
Trait 4: Unhurried
Trait 5: Irresponsible

Appearance:
 photo animeboy.jpg
Height: 5'3"
Weight: 120lbs
Hair colour: white/silver, the ends change colour with his mood.
Skin colour: Lizzie told me to put white as white can get
Eyes: gold/brown
Body type: teeny
Pitch of voice: quiet; light; positive; Australian accent
Distinguishable markings: his hair

Weakness(es): Though compared to a human he is very strong, compared to any other deity, or even demigod, he is ridiculously weak. He doesn't listen to a lot of common sense, his sister had always been the smarter one.

Strength(s): He can stand right in front of someone and not even be noticed till he speaks. He's very loyal to the people that live on his land, though he doesn't always like them he will protect them from any outside threat.

Biography/History: Before the continent of Australia was habitable it was home to two giant snakes that lived beneath the earth's crust. When it was time they came out together and formed the rivers, mountains and deserts of the land. Once they were finished they sunk into the sea and protected their land from intruders. They let humans make their home there, and were worshiped, though some people believed that there was only one snake, some two, and some didn't believe in them at all, this didn't bother the siblings since they were only there to protect the land. Finally they took on human forms and mixed with them, though they had no idea this was going to be mistake. They were wandering one night when they came upon a group of hunters, the twins were so fair that they were thought to be ghosts and the hunters tried to capture them, they thought themselves to not be afraid of anything. They managed to capture the weaker of the two, Yingarna, though they didn't have her for long since Yero, normally very peaceful, attacked without hesitation and killed the humans, almost killing his sister in the process. He wept over her until her eyes opened back up and she smiled weakly, though she couldn't die she could be taken away from him, their eyes met and light seemed to burst out of both of them as their minds and souls converged. Though he has harbored a slight resentment toward humans for taking his sister he knows that she's still with him, and is reminded of that the few times a year that she gets strong enough in his mind to speak to him, though it only ever lasts a few hours, sometimes only minutes. (view spoiler)

Relation(s):
» Yingarna - Deity; Lives in His Mind

Power(s): He has the ability to manipulate the earth, changing it slowly into whatever shape he feels like. He also has the power to change his appearance at will, and transform into any kind of snake.

Weapon(s): None

Fighting Skill(s): He fights silently, he has very little presence, which means people don't normally notice him even if he's standing right in front of them. He strikes when people least expect it.

Other: He can't stand the cold, though it doesn't affect him as it does humans, he just doesn't like it.

message 5: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 118 comments Name: Natosi
» Alias: Omahkaato'si
*(Natosi = holy one; Omahkaato'si = great holy one)

Gender: Male

Species: Deity
» Planet: Mars
» Element: Fire

Personality: Since most of the time Natosi is surrounded by the Sky People, his attention does not stray often towards mortals and it usually takes some measures before one can draw his attention. Most of the time he sees mortal matters as trivial whereas he's content with his wife and children in their role as providers of light. He takes this role very seriously and doesn't like it when mortals tamper with that, especially when it involves his children (such as the woman that loved his son, the Morning Star). At first meeting, Natosi is a gracious host, believing in the idea of trust and hospitality until that law is broken. And when that trust is broken, he reacts with a severity that is in proportion to the disrespect shown to him. Other than that, Natosi is a strong-willed individual with respect for everything around him and with a warm kindness that can bleed through after that affection is earned. He isn't a hard man and he does not seek out violence nor does he like feeling angry. Rather, Natosi likes to remain peaceful and away from those things which adds even more to his normal aloofness.
Trait 1: Protective
Trait 2: Hard-Working
Trait 3: Stern
Trait 4: Benign
Trait 5: Aloof

Appearance:

Height: 5'10"
Weight: 170lbs
Hair colour: raven black
Skin colour: light copper
Eyes: deep brown
Body type: lightly muscular; athletic; lithe
Pitch of voice: soft; mellow; low tenor
Distinguishable markings: Paint usually decorates his face and it is more rare to see him without it.

Weaknesses: short-tempered; strict; distant; not really one to show affection.

Strengths: independent; hospitable; never leaves an ally behind; sticks to the rules (can be a weakness); hunting skills.

Biography/History: In the beginning, the diving being Apistotoke created the Sky People with Natosi being the first of them. Natosi is considered as the sun and with his wife, Komorkis, they give light to the world. Their children are the stars, one of them being the Morning Star. One time, after a woman fell in love with his son, Morning Star, Natosi and his wife let her into their home in the sky. But she disobeyed them one time and so was banished. Her son, Natosi's grandson, suffered a lot of ridicule since his tribe didn't believe his claim to be the Morning Star's son. After he suffered humiliation, the boy by the name of Star Boy decided to speak to his grandfather to find out the truth. There, Natosi found him at his doorstep and he would have killed the mortal that dared to enter the Sky People's dwelling had not the boy been recognized for the scar on his chin. From there, Natosi welcomed him and taught him the Sun Dance, which brought health and blessings to the land. Unfortunately, Star Boy couldn't stay with the Sky People due to his mother's betrayal. Another time, Natosi turned a snake into a human. Even though Natosi doesn't interact with mortals and land beings often, when shown respect and true intentions, then he allows them to meet him.

Relations:
» Apistotoke - Deity; Immortal; Creator
» Komorkis - Deity; Immortal; Wife; The Moon
» Morning Star - Deity; Immortal; Eldest Son

Powers: Natosi has a pair of leggings that can set fire to things around him wherever he walks. Also, he can control light as powerful as the sun.

Weapons: bow and arrows (view spoiler); hunting knife (view spoiler).

Fighting Skills: Natosi doesn't go out of his way to fight, but when he does, he is smart and quick; he rather finish off a target at a distance before the come close to him. He prefers the bow and when an enemy gets close, Natosi can manage to dodge until he can get his knife to deal a finishing blow. He could use other weapons such as a spear, but his mastery resides with archery.

Other: Perhaps Natosi just seems harsh, just like a blazing summer, but there are times where he can be as gentle as a glimmering sunrise and it's rare to see these times since he feels that as the first of the Sky People, he must lead them through example.
