Meaghan Bond | 5 comments I read this book in the mid-late 1990s, but it was an old, hardback library book. Tan cover. Children/YA. There's a horse whose name I think starts with "F". He cycles between being wild and living with people on a ranch. The narration follows the horse or is done by the horse. I remember the book felt masculine - perhaps no major female (human) characters.
I distinctly remember that it was set around the Twin Buttes because I thought it was pronounced "butt." Ha!
Thank you for the help!

Here's a description of "Fury, Stallion of Broken Wheel Ranch," Laurie's suggestion:

T V into book- and by this time some ten million young "viewers" are familiar with Joey, an orphan boy, and the stallion Fury . Padded with details of ranch life and horse schooling, this appeals essentially to the sentimental streak in young and old. With each victory over the spirited Fury , Joey's eyes brim with tears; the tears come again when he is rescued from an unscrupulous opportunist who attempts to abduct him, and when he is finally assured of a home on the ranch.

Does that sound like your book?

Meaghan, are you still looking for this or did you find it?

Meaghan Bond | 5 comments Still looking! Fury sounds like a book I would have enjoyed, but I don't think it's the one I'm looking for.

"King, a magnificent black stallion, is missing from the Twin Buttes country of Idaho. Fearing foul play, his self appointed guardians, Ben and Dixie, set out to find him dead or alive."

Meaghan ~~
Let us know if you found your book. We will shelve it as Solved, or continue to look for it.

Also ~~
You can "bump" your thread every month or so. This pushes your thread back to the top of the folder instead of languishing here on page 173 where fewer eyes will see it. Get back in the game! Bump!
You can do this by typing a new comment at the end of the thread, or even by typing the word "bump."
Good luck!
