even if you invite someoneto the group, you have to watch email for the link to approve them into the group. also, nothing shows up in goodreads, just email.

That may have been a fluke specific to an odd use case...that is, you invited me when the group was secret, and it wouldn't let me join. Then you made it private and reinvited me, and the second invitation didn't contain a link (?!), so I used the link from the first invitation, and it sent you an email but showed nothing within goodreads.
