Ok, so I have a wordpress.org site which is hosted through Bluehost. I have several "subscribers" to my blog according to Wordpress user roles, but I'm trying to figure out how to send them emails when I write a new post to notify them of the new post. Does anyone know if they already get an email and if so, is there any way to customize that? Or does anyone have any recommendations on how to set up something that will automatically email subscribers when I publish a new post on my website/blog?

Tara, I think that is a feature which comes with the Jetpack plugin.Or at least that is how I offer the "subscribe to posts by email" option.
If you want to send a customized newsletter to your subscribers, I'd look into adding the MailChimp plugin. https://wordpress.org/plugins/mailchi...

Mailchimp might actually work for this.Mailchimp can take posts from an RSS fee and send out an email. If you have no new posts then it won't send the email.
If you only post once every few days then it will only send one email every few days.

Yes, she would be able to send auto emails with MailChimp as well. And MailChimp would allow her to set up a customized template too.

I totally missed your reply somehow and you posted it 7 minutes before. I could have co-signed and just added the wp beginner link lol.
My only problem with MailChimp is that I don't have a mailing address other than where I live and I don't want my subscribers k owing where I live.

Ok thanks. I'll keep MailChimp in mind for future use when I can afford to have a PO Box for mail

They provide a street address of record for utilization and an app on your cell phone to "check your mail" should somebody actually decide to contact you.
