from economist Tyler Cowen's best fiction of 2016.
The list is his choice based on what he has read during the year rather than those published in 2016.

My favorite reads this year have been Disgrace, Asking For It, Wool Omnibus, and my current read The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet and Middlemarch.

added as TBR
could be good choice for Horror/Gothic in Group Challenge 2017

Science Friday's The Best Science Books of 2016
have added Black Hole Blues and Other Songs from Outer Space by cosmologist and novelist Janna Levin,
Time Travel by James Gleick
and Spaceborne by astronaut Donald Pettit as TBR
would highly recommend I Contain Multitudes: The Microbes Within Us and a Grander View of Life by Ed Yong
and enjoyed the predecessor to Being a Dog: Following the Dog Into a World of Smell by Alexandra Horowitz

Includes our December read The Underground Railroad (probably won't get this from library until February)
and I've added The North Water as TBR

repeat mentions for The Underground Railroad and I Contain Multitudes: The Microbes Within Us and a Grander View of Life

includes The Underground Railroad, End of Watch and When Breath Becomes Air

It can be an interesting gauge of the big hitters in some ways .

Hi Cphe, have started in on the Underground Railroad so will have to get through man's inhumanity to man first
agree that GR list gives a different view to most critic's best of list
in other news, TBR list has grown from mid 30s to 51 so far this month, don't think I'll be able to hold to my limit of 50 for end of year:(
