Question about group listening to book together.

Every time I hear the warning about streaming and so forth I want to question it. More than one person in a car on a road trip would be able to hear the book together over the auto speakers. Say six people in a van would not be unusual. What if that same six people decided to have a crafting group and play an audio book while sewing, knitting or painting? What if the group was 12 people?

Where do you draw the line and ask for written permission?
