Samantha justified her willingness to do Jeffery's bidding as a need to provide a better life for her son and take care of her mother. Were you able to empathize with her perspective? Your overall thoughts about this character?

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments I liked Sam. I can understand her wanting to keep her job and make money to provide for her son and mother.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments While I liked Sam and could understand her desire to provide for her family, there is no excuse for crossing ethical and legal boundaries.
Despite her claims that her career was tied to Jeffrey's, I don't think this was necessarily true. She is an experienced and skilled professional who would be able to get a job with another news service.
My impression was that she stayed because of some misplaced sense of loyalty and not fear of being unable to find another job.
