Cary Neeper (cary_neeper) | 5 comments Seeking meaning in the face of disillusionment with current events on Earth--AN ALIEN'S QUEST is for anyone who enjoy aliens (Very subtly alien) who have their own way of defining Meaning. The human, however, is the alien, on a quest in a watery planet so close to Earth that the book hardly qualifies as scifi. Even the space travel is realistically slow. And it's Bibliography is a list of must-read non-fiction that weaves itself into all the series books--complexity, long-term economics, current dilemmas and religious philosophy. Maybe the Archives books are all 'hard scifi,' or 'hard social scifi' or not scifi at all--maybe fun speculative women's fiction? That's my problem--the genre game--I liked the Oz books and dog stories too well as a kid. I'm cary@caryneeper.com if you want to review any of the Archives ( Info at http:archivesofvarok.com ) .
