Intrusion (1995) -
(view spoiler)[ Okay, so this was a bit eerie. I liked the whole idea of the intrusion and everything. I liked the fact that it might be kind of telling you that the Waves may have been caused because of Cassie. I do love a good old plot twist. (hide spoiler)]

Part I - The Last Historian
Cassie - (view spoiler)[ I like her. She's kind of amazing, although I do hate it when she starts contradicting herself by overthinking about the Others, when she said she wouldn't. (hide spoiler)]

Cassie's family - (view spoiler)[ sad to hear about her mother's death and her dad's too. I mainly liked her dad. I still want to know whether Sam is alive or not, because I feel like that will be something at the end of the book. (hide spoiler)]

Great! This book is pretty good. I've spent the whole evening reading and just finished part IV.

I really liked part I. (view spoiler)[ It was somehow interesting to follow Cassie on her solitary struggle and then occasionally get glimpses of her life before the Arrival. I like Cassie's character and her way of thinking. Somehow I expected each wave to be dealt with more specifically but it was fine the way it was, though. (hide spoiler)]

Part II and III (view spoiler)[ were a bit confusing at first because the narrator was suddenly someone else than Cassie and you didn't know who the narrator was (although you could guess at least in part 2). But it's a bit confusing to always start reading a chapter and wonder who's the narrator now. However, it's not too much a distraction. I think Cassie and Ben will find each other at some point. Part IV was (view spoiler)[ kind of a slowdown. Time for Cassie to recover and get her strength back...and to develop a start of a romance between Cassie and Evan. But I don't completely trust Evan. He's not human. (hide spoiler)]

I'm not sure if Cassie (view spoiler)[ will defeat The Others. Her succeeding in something that all of humanity couldn't do seems a bit unrealistic. But there will probably be some kind of a small victory like saving her brother. (hide spoiler)]

Have you been making any progress with this Alberto? I've been reading kind of slowly, got sidetracked with The hobbit. Now I'm about to start part X.

I seriously don't like (view spoiler)[ Evan. He's so annoying. He keeps telling those half-truths and asking Cassie to trust him. Only it's obvious there's something that's not right about him. I think he's a good guy and he did finally tell Cassie the truth in Part IX but I think he should have told her ages ago. (hide spoiler)]

Cassie I still like (view spoiler)[ but really, when the world is ending, who has time to fall in love? I get it that she might get sidetracked and want to stay in a place of safety, she so suddenly came across, though. (hide spoiler)]

I like Ringer. (view spoiler)[ She's tough! Ben I don't really like or dislike. He's just ok but it was quite a coincidence that Sammy was assigned to his unit. Guess that means Cassie will run into him still. (hide spoiler)]

For some reason I liked the (view spoiler)[ beginning of the book better. I mean the time when Cassie was just on her own. I'm not saying it's not interesting to see what's going on inside the base and all but it's not really necessary. Cassie could have discovered all that when she infiltrated the base. And I'm just not a fan of hers and Evan's love affair. This probably sounds like I only have bad things to say but really I'm enjoying the book a lot. (hide spoiler)]

The ending (view spoiler)[ was what I expected it to be. I'm happy they were able to get Sam out of the base. Also Ben and Cassie finally ran into each other, Do you think Evan's still alive? I think he is. There's no way he's dead. (hide spoiler)]
The first chapter of The infinite sea (view spoiler)[ that was included after the story seemed interesting. It was written from Ringer's point of view, which I liked, because it'd be nice to see inside her head. I just hope the story won't get boring if it goes on too long. I think I'll read the 2nd book at some point at least. :) (hide spoiler)]

Finally done with this one!

The ending (view spoiler)[ was kind of predictable. They kill Vosch, take Sams, the two stories converge, and they get out alive. Even though I felt this was what was going to happen, I still loved the way it played out and how Yancey was able to catapult the characters' feelings and thought. (hide spoiler)]

As for (view spoiler)[ Evan, I doubt he died. I hope he went out and killed some other Others (lol). (hide spoiler)]

I'm dying to know (view spoiler)[ what the Infinite Sea is and if that is what Cassie went through when she "connected" with Evan. (hide spoiler)]

I agree with you on the ending being predictable but it was still ok I think :) Also agree on Evan being alive, Perhaps he'll make a comeback in the next book. (hide spoiler)]
