zjakkelien | 6 comments Hi everyone, I have a question. I was checking out the editions of a Dutch book, Montyn by Dirk Ayelt Kooiman, to see if it was ever translated. I saw only Dutch editions, so I concluded it wasn't translated. Then I did a google search, and it turns out it was translated. The translation is called A lamb to slaughter: an artist among the battlefields . The authors of the English version are listed as Jan Montyn and Dirk Ayelt Kooiman. For everyone's understanding: this book was written by Dirk Ayelt Kooiman, but it is the life story of Jan Montyn, whom he interviewed. The Dutch version only has Kooiman as author, but for some reason the English version lists Montyn as the first author. As a result, I cannot combine the two, but they are the same book. I would really like to see them combined, also because then it would be easier to find the fact that it has been translated.

How can I do this?

Worldcat agrees with you:
Translation of: Montyn.
Copyright c1982 Dirk Ayelt Kooiman

The English covers are a bit of a problem though, so you might want to wait for someone like rivka to give the ok.

zjakkelien | 6 comments I suppose I could that, but I was a bit hesitant, since on the cover of the English book, Montyn is listed as first author... It would be nice if someone could confirm this idea as an allowed one!

It is necessary for all editions of a book to have the same primary author for them to be combined. It is necessary that they keep the same primary author to prevent various other issues.
