For 3rd and 4th period, respond to this question in 3-5 sentences. Paraphrase or quote from the text as you use evidence from the text to support your answer. Remember to use "Mess" when you give textual support (means, emphasizes, shows, or suggests).

Alex Spingola | 1 comments Miracles do happen to Billy because think about the tree. He almost had it done but he quit and he prayed to god and then a wind happened just by that tree and it blew over.

Owen | 1 comments Miracles don't happen for Billy because he used his brain to pay for his dogs. Train his dogs. And in the blizzard he knew how to bring his dogs back.
The end was so sad. I cried for two chapters. Why did it have to happen? I just went back and thought about the previous adventures.

Cameron (cameroneskaggs-rowe) | 1 comments I believe that miracles don't happen to Billy because one both of his dogs die after they win the trophy and win the money. I also cried like Owen. I get emotional when animals pass away.

Polina B. | 1 comments Miracles don't happen for Billy because he worked very hard to get the hounds and succeeded. His pups, killed a mountain lion because they worked hard to do it. Billy won the gold cup, and won against hunters all around the world because he practiced. I agree with the others that it was tough or us all that the pups died, but they knew that they did a lot of interesting things.

Ryan | 1 comments I think miracles do happen to Billy because when he was in the woods trying to cut down the big tree with his hounds 1st coon in it, he was just too fatigued to continue chopping. So he prayed to God and asked for Him to please get that tree down any way he possibly could. Then, all of a sudden, a miracle wind that seemed to only blow on the big tree was just enough to blow it over. Billy had gotten the coon from the tree that his little hounds worked so hard to tree.

Madison Warren | 1 comments I think that miracles do happen to Billy because in the first part of the book Billy really wanted hound. He prayed to God and asked him for hounds. A few minutes later he came back down to the river and saw that there was an add for hounds. Billy saved his money and in two years he got the hounds that he had been wanting. Another time that a miracle happend to Billy was when he had caught his hounds had caught their first coon. Billy worked all day and night to try and cut down the tree but it did not happen. He then prayed to God and a few minutes later there was a gust of wind and the tree got knocked right over. This is why I think that miracles do happen to Billy.
