12. Ayse did a nice paragraph/bio on herself. Lets do one on ourselves. This can be a way we get to know each other a little better.

About Me - Carol's Bio

We thought it would be fun to take a few minutes and tell us a little about ourselves. I hit the big 60 a little over two months ago. I have a friend the same age that says she wears hers like a badge of honor! I'm the oldest of three children. Born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was a late bloomer in the marriage department. I was 46 and my hubby Mark was 53 when we got married. I graduated from Brigham Young University in Business Education, and I got my Masters from the University of Phoenix in Human Resources and Organization Behavior. I've worked for Electric Utility (8 years), for a Billboard Company for 15 1/2 years, Mystery Shopping for several years, Computer Sales and Service 4 years, etc. I have a 17 year old cat. He is the love of my life. Am a two-time breast cancer survivor, and have been clean for 21 years. Have had some bad side effects from the chemotherapy, radiation, and steroids used in treatment, etc, that has caused me to need three hip replacements, two shoulder replacements, and 6-7 year ago I had to have all my teeth extracted, and am getting used to some new choppers. Life is overall pretty good. Hope you all are doing well. Book clubs are a wonderful strengthening tool for me.

Cindy | 522 comments I am 55 years old. Happily married for 30 years. We have three grown sons. Two are married and the other engaged and we could not have been luckier with these three girls! We also have 2 delightful little granddaughters. We've lived in Roswell NM for 20 years. I was a CPA but just retired. When tax season rolls around I'll have the biggest smile on my face.

Pam | 218 comments I'm 6 days older than Carol and Cindy's husband was my best friend til he met Cindy! I have extremely fond memories of Carol, Cindy and Ron. I've been married 26 years, have two beautiful daughters both adopted from China. I have an MBA in Finance, I've worked in the electric and telecom industries before kids and have enjoyed helping several friends take their businesses to the next level since kids. My family recently moved to Idaho Falls as my husband took a job with Melaleuca. I'll be interviewing with them next week and hopefully work for them. We adopted our first daughter when I was 41, I'm definitely a late bloomer, but I love my life. I love gardening, working out, crafting, reading and getting in my girls' business! I've thoroughly enjoyed our book club and look forward to another year of great reads!

M.E. Hembroff (mhembroff) | 93 comments I am 73 and live in Strathmore, Alberta, Canada. I grew up on a farm in Manitoba the fourth in a family of five. My parents were almost old enough to be my grandparents. My older brothers and sister often played parent roles. As a child, I was creative inventing different games that provided entertainment and often landed me in trouble. I was married by the time I was twenty-one and had three children, two girls, and one boy. When my kids were growing up I took art and writing courses. I belonged to a couple of different art groups when I lived in Calgary. It was after my children grew up that I divorced their dad after being married for over thirty years. For me, it was a positive move which has benefited me and the kids. After I retired I moved to scenic Strathmore. I love reading, painting, working in the garden and walking my dog. I also have a cat that craves attention, especially now that he went through an ordeal with urinal blockage. He is doing fine now, thankfully and is on a special diet. I do have controlled high blood pressure and AFib. I live a quiet life now and help with functions with the Happy Gang, seniors club. I look after the hall rentals which is a volunteer position. My kids live close by.
