I finished act one. I was quite curious about what this book will be like because I've seen so many contradictory reviews.

I was a little worried (view spoiler)[ whether I'd find it boring reading this because it's written as a script. However, I don't find it boring at all. Naturally it's not the same as reading the other Harry Potter books because it lacks narration but despite that I still like reading this book. And it's very quick to read. (hide spoiler)]

I kind of like seeing what became of (view spoiler)[ Harry, Ron and Hermione. Of course a glimpse was offered in the epilogue of Deathly Hallows but now we see much more. Also I think it's nice to see that Harry's fame is not necessarily a positive thing for his children. That's just so realistic. (hide spoiler)]

What are the odds that (view spoiler)[ Albus and Scorpius became best friends? Well, I still think it's better than the Potter and Granger-Weasley kids hanging together. A little variety. I'd like to know what is Albus's relationship with Hagrid, though. (hide spoiler)]

I have a feeling (view spoiler)[ this book might have some important themes about growing up, gaining one's independence, meeting expectations, acceptance and forgiveness as well as what it's like to be the unpopular kid at school. (hide spoiler)]

I finished act 2 (and Part 1)

This is going to be interesting!

Now when (view spoiler)[ Albus and Scorpius can travel in time we see various possibilities how things could have turned out. The once about to begin (Harry dead and Voldemort alive) looks especially interesting. I wonder how dark the world will be with Voldemort in charge. (hide spoiler)]

About the (view spoiler)[ darkness Bane saw around Albus...I definitely don't think it's Scorpius. It's probably Delphi. There's something about her that's not right. (hide spoiler)]

I wish we'd get a glimpse of (view spoiler)[ Snape at some point. He was always one of my favorite characters. (hide spoiler)]

Anyway, I'm so happy to be back in the world of Harry Potter and to meet all those old characters again, even if in smaller roles this time. I've been meaning to re-read the Harry Potter series but haven't had time so at least I can read this :)

I knew (view spoiler)[ Delphi was the evil one! Now I just wonder how they will defeat her and how Albus and Scorpius will get back to their own time again. (hide spoiler)]

I kind of liked (view spoiler)[ Hermione as a rebel. The role suited her. And it was great to see Snape! I'm happy that Scorpius realized that being popular is not all it takes for a person to be happy. And finally everybody's starting to have some sense, stop fighting and start working together. I'm not sure I want Harry and Draco to become too close, though. They're still supposed to be enemies :) (hide spoiler)]

and OMG it's so good! I agree, i absolutely love being back in the Harry potter world! I don't even mind that this is written in the play format! I can picture it all!

I've Finished Act 1:

Albus(view spoiler)[ I feel bad for the kid but I agree, I love that it's showing the opposite side of fame. I mean, don't get me wrong, Harry did not like the fame growing up either - he hated that everyone watched everything he did. But, like he said, he had Hermione and Ron and they made all the difference (hide spoiler)]

Scorpius(view spoiler)[ I love that they are friends. of course they would be - two outcasts from "famous" houses. I find it completely believable!
and I like him so far. I love his affection for Rose and I like how he's smart but goofy - a good mix of both Ron and Hermione traits.
and Albus is every bit as brave as Harry always was - AND he's trying to right a wrong
he just is going about it a completely wrong way (hide spoiler)]

Diggory(view spoiler)[ although my heart breaks for him, what is he thinking? I know he's sad, I know he hurts and he never got over it - but changing anything is always a bad idea
and he helped these kids break into the ministry?!?! ugh (hide spoiler)]

love this one so far! and I agree, it's a fast read! I'll definitely finish it tomorrow :)

I agree with you! This is very good and the play format doesn't matter at all. I'm also planning on finishing today once I get of from work and home from the movies (I'm gonna see The fantastic beasts :D ).

I finished this and loved it!

I think this was good 'til the very end. Of course, (view spoiler)[ there were maybe a bit too many "I've made mistakes but now I know better" -scenes but at least the characters learned from their mistakes. I think it was nice to see how Albus's relationship with Harry got gradually better. It shows it's not always easy to be a parent but that you don't have to be perfect in order to be a good parent. I'm happy Harry and Albus learned to understand each other. And also Draco and Scorpius got closer. (hide spoiler)]

When it comes to Draco (view spoiler)[ I'm not hundred percent ok with him siding with Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny and opening up about how he envied their friendship when they were kids. In my mind they're still somehow supposed to be enemies :D On the other hand, it was nice to see that Draco had also matured and, of course, he was thinking what was best for his son. (hide spoiler)]

I, like (view spoiler)[ Harry and Albus, thought Delphi was going to kill baby Harry so it was a nice surprise it wasn't what she intended. (hide spoiler)]

oh man! this one was good (view spoiler)[ and to see the show? ugh, I can't even imagine - seeing Voldemort kill Lily and James. It would be a tough one to watch

I'm(view spoiler)[ good with the growth they had and all they had to do to get there. It was tough to read about Harry scrambling to be a good dad. I was glad he got to say some things to Dumbledore and to, intern, learn things about himself. (hide spoiler)]

I'm happy you liked it! And I definitely agree with you (view spoiler)[ that an ending with Harry dead or Ron and Hermione not together just didn't feel right! And I also didn't guess that Delphi was Voldemort's daughter. I'm not sure how I feel about Bellatrix being her mother but she's really the only woman I could possibly imagine having Voldemort's kid. (hide spoiler)]

The play would be so great to see! Perhaps someday I will see it. And thank you for reading the book with me as well :)
