Explanation of book-question link: One of my middle names is Margaretha (Dutch version of Margaret), and one of the main characters in this book is Margaret (the book is told from her perspective). Also, Peggy is derived from Margaret (I never saw the link, but apparently it's Margaret --> Maggy / Meggy --> Peggy)

Yes, I was surprised by how old it was! Didn't feel like that at all though.
It's one of those ageless books. I'm sure it will still be around in another 30 years :-)
I had the The Corfu Trilogy on my Geo challenge. I really need to get to it one of these days. I am still working on some of the left over books.

Explanation of book-question link: I have never had a broken bone, so I had to read about archaeology. One of the main characters is an archaeologist, the other has a very strong interest in it, and the book is set during an archaeological expedition.

I enjoyed it :) I don't think I'll continue the series 'just because', but if I ever need a book set in Egypt or about archaeology I will read book 2 :)

Explanation of book-question link: My favourite genre is historical fiction, and this book is in that genre. Also, for some reason I didn't want to use just any old historical fiction, but I wanted a fantastic one. And I found it! 5-star read.

It's definitely a 5 star read. Her book The Velvet Hours is in Audible's 2 - 1 sale and I'm tempted, but I can't get past one of the narrators. I may have to read this one in print format.
Thanks for reminding, I was planning on going through her other books to add some to my tbr. This was my first book by her.
The Velvet Hours audio is available in local library. I'm pretty forgiving of narration when it's free ;-)

Explanation of book-question link: I wrote down road trip, not necessarily by car, but a holiday in which I don't stay in one place but travel through one or more countries. Bill Bryson travels from Norway to Turkey in this book, stopping in many places along the way.

Explanation of book-question link: I answered undersea and this book is set on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. This was the task I least looked forward too, I had no fitting books and I'm not interested in books set undersea, but it was not so bad at all :) Still glad I have this one out of the way though!

I neglected this challenge for a week or 2 because I read a chunky book for the monthly challenge, and it feels weird! Glad to be back again ;-)
I'm 1/3 into Age of Myth and planned to read it for another task, but so far it's all set in spring. Will switch it to that task if it stays spring, as I was hoping to just come across something by accident to fill the spring-task.

The Well of Ascension had a summary of The Final Empire in it. Very handy! More authors should do that.

I can hardly wait for the next book in the series (Age of Swords) to come out. It's on my survey challenge for the randomizer task.
I wrote down Dave Grohl as one of the people I would like to meet, and yesterday I heard about a new book coming out, written by his mom, From Cradle to Stage: Stories from the Mothers Who Rocked and Raised Rock Stars. Sounds fun, I think I might read this one for that task. There are some biographies too, but this sounds better to me.Also, do you think the flowers on this cover are wildflowers (in my definition: flowers that grow wild, so have not been planted there by people as you see in a garden - unless they are typical wildflowers but that's not important here)?

I can't tell if those are wildflowers or not. I can see the planted flowers along the walkway, but I think you're talking about what looks like yellow(ish) in the background on the left. I think it might be easier to tell with the book in hand. Sorry, I know that's no help.

They are all planted in a row lining the path. They look like Pelargoniums (Geraniums) to me. I would not consider them wild flowers.
Thanks Kristie and Cherie. I agree that the ones in a row are probably planted, but the yellowish ones I'm less sure about. It's also not so clear on the actual cover. I'll gopher some more!
Too obscure to tell, Peggy. Sorry, I wasn't trying to shoot you down. I am not sure that wild flowers are weeds. Dandelions are flowers, but I think most folks would call them weeds. Wild flowers are like California poppies and small annual flowers that grow in carpets under optimum conditions, when there has been adequate rain. Not enough rain and no or few flowers that year. The seeds remain dormant.

I've been lucky with my challenge reads so far. All were 3 stars at least, and even some of the books I worried about before turned out to be enjoyable reads.That luck has ended with The Best of Adam Sharp. I'm only finishing it because it fits a difficult task, not sure if I would have read until the end otherwise. I don't think the book in itself is bad (in terms of writing, characters, story) but I just can't relate to any of it. Nothing worse than a book in which you just. don't. care.

That's a shame Peggy, but I guess it was bound to happen at some point. At least it will be out of the way and you will be another step closer to your goal :)

Pity but thanks for the heads up. I loved The Rosie Project but I thought The Rosie Effect stretched the joke a little thin.
This is not even comparable. Not funny at all (also not intended to be funny I think). But even without comparing it to the other two, I just didn't like it. I don't really relate to the love troubles of 50-year olds and how they try to fix it.
It would at least be age appropriate for me lol
