KimeyDiann | 2174 comments Ooh, this is fun! I've only skimmed the questions but I think this filling this out will be a great little distraction when I need a break from work.

Or maybe some of them are trick questions....... :)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Done. Finally. I hate surveys generally so procrastination was essential

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I like filling out surveys (depends a bit on the topic though)! I subscribed to two survey organisations years ago, and they send me online surveys to fill out twice or three times a month. You get points, and those points you can exchange for gift certificates of a number of shops, one of which is the country's largest online bookstore. Guess what I use my points for? ;-) I earned at least €330 in the past 5 years or so.

Janice (jamasc) | 60005 comments There are tons of surveys online. I had fun compiling this list.

message 56: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments For #28, contemporary or classic. I'm probably confusing myself, but is that for something specific, like books, fashion, home décor, or something else?

I just assumed it was talking about books

message 58: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie I ended up giving up on this years challenge. Life gets in the way of reading sometimes :) looking forward to this challenge for 2017!!

It's however you want to interpret it.

I think the 2017 challenge will be a little easier. Maybe.

message 61: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Pickstone | 529 comments The famous/infamous person - do they have to be alive? and the fave author - how do you decide?????? that's nearly impossible!

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments Deborah wrote: "The famous/infamous person - do they have to be alive? and the fave author - how do you decide?????? that's nearly impossible!"

Deborah, I don't think the famous/infamous person has to be alive. The person I chose isn't.

I gave up on my challenge too, Stephanie. I enjoyed it but I didn't do a very good job of completing books for it ;) Very much looking forward to next year's challenge!

message 64: by Deborah (last edited Nov 26, 2016 02:09AM) (new)

Deborah Pickstone | 529 comments I aimed to read all 222 for geocaching but I am going to be a few short - never mind, I had fun trying!

Lisa - I went with a historical figure in the end :) thanks for helping!

message 65: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11281 comments I won't finish my challenge before December, but I loved it. I plan to go on with it, it doesn't matter when I finish it. And I finish the sites I will progressively add more.

That's great, Sandra! Good for you to keep going with it, especially since you are having fun in the process. : )

Janice (jamasc) | 60005 comments Deborah wrote: "The famous/infamous person - do they have to be alive? and the fave author - how do you decide?????? that's nearly impossible!"

Question 1 - it's entirely up to you.
Question 2 - List a few of your favourites, or use a randomizer to pick for you.

I see a lot of people over thinking this. Although the questions ask for "favourite", your answer doesn't have to be your ultimate FAVOURITE. Relax, list a couple or people/things or just list someone/something you like a lot.

message 68: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60005 comments I've got the remainder of the geocache challenge listed as my 2017 Leftover Stew challenge, just for the fun of it.

I barely started the 2016 challenge. Life left me unable to challenge myself to read much more than regency romance books. (And no, that was not my answer for favorite genre ☺) I'm hoping to broaden my horizons in 2017.

message 70: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Pickstone | 529 comments Hum....yes, good thinking.....I'll just continue geocaching until it's done - whenever that is :)

Me too, Lisa :) with moving and then we had housemates for about 3 1/2 weeks, and I haven't gotten a library card here yet so I have a very limited amount of books to read right now.

message 72: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Got mine done :-)

message 73: by Joan (new)

Joan I enjoyed reading the responses and I am looking forward to seeing how the survey ties in with the Ares avatar.

My homework is complete too. :-) Since this is a public group, I did decide to remove a few answers from my original post that I felt were too private (such as month of birth). Thanks for understanding.

That's perfectly fine. I realized that some people may not want to reveal too much, which is why I said you could do it offline if you preferred.

Thank you so much, Janice. This sounds so fun! Also, you may have heard my sigh of relief, as I was thinking it might be a 50 book challenge. So glad there are multiple options to achieve our 2017 challenge goals.

Carla | 244 comments Hi all,

Well after giving up on last year's challenge I need to get back into a groove. I'm a bit confused as to where to post my answers to the survey though. Would I add them to this thread?

Just use the new topic link on the top right and you'll be able to start a thread with all your answers .

Janice (jamasc) | 60005 comments Hi Lowdenic000, welcome to our group. You will need to set up your own reporting thread in this folder and then copy your answers there.

Your person thread will be where you list your answers, plan the books you want to read (we call that gophering), and report your finished books.

Here are the quick links to members' threads. Take a look at a few of them as examples of what you are to do.

message 97: by Amanda (Mandy) (new)

Amanda (Mandy) | 762 comments I am just now joining. I ended up not finishing last years challenge so I will try to do better this go around. I haven't been reading much lately due to life, but have several books that I have been itching to get started. I have lots of traveling coming up over the next couple of months so I hope to get some reading in.

message 98: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60005 comments I'm glad you've decided to join us, Amanda. Read what you can and enjoy the challenge.

message 99: by [deleted user] (new)

With 10 months still left in the year, I think this is doable, (or at least a dent could be made). Looks like another fun challenge.
