Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments I have, Brooke! I'm trying to read a few fluffier books now to let me get a little deeper into W&P, as it takes up quite a lot of mental energy to keep track of. I'm actually glad to finally read this one though, although so far I'm not particularly enjoying it.

Jessica (jesbee) What are you reading this week?
Brisingr by Christopher Paolini
Brisingr (The Inheritance Cycle, #3) by Christopher Paolini

Did you "buy" this book in 2017 or before?
My husband & I bought this (we were both reading the series) back when it was first published (2008 or so?)

Any reason you didn't pick it before?
Life got busy and I never got around to reading it, and then it just sort of fell off my radar. I had forgotten most of what happened in the first two books of the series, so I wanted to reread those first, and that was a daunting task since they are such thick books. I have now finally reread those first two books, though.

Is there another title waiting on your shelves since a long time? No other title physically waiting on my shelves, as I rarely buy books at all. But many, many titles on my TBR list that have been there since I began Goodreads in 2011! I will get to them soon!

I think I bought it in 2016. I have had copies before, and hadn't gotten to them.

It was recommended several times, but never really clicked with me.

- Did you "buy" this book in 2017 or before?
My dad gave it to me about 15 years ago and it's been sitting there ever since.

- Any reason you didn't pick it before?
I have a lot of stuff to read and this one seemed sad, so I kind of put it off.

- Is there another title waiting on your shelves since a long time?
There are many of them. Maybe I'll get a few of those read this year...

Não pare! Você entregaria sua vida nas mãos da própria morte? (Não pare!, #1) by F.M.L. Pepper

Q: Did you "buy" this book in 2017 or before?
A:
Amazon gave it to me last year when I downloaded Kindle.

Q: Any reason you didn't pick it before?
A:
I tried once, but I forgot about it. I don't like to read in my cellphone. Now I take a work bus and I have 2 hours to do anything, so I think is the better time to do it.

Q: Is there another title waiting on your shelves since a long time?
A:
There is a book I bought in 2014 or 2015, but I'm not in the mood of reading a romance.

Definitely before! I don't know where the book came from. It is the 1984 edition and has been on my shelf forever!

- Any reason you didn't pick it before?
I have picked it up but never got past page 1! I don't read a lot of fantasy.

- Is there another title waiting on your shelves since a long time?
Too many to list! I'm also reading an Advance Reader copy of The Women in the Castle, which I won in February. It's not a long time except that I should've read it before it was released this year.

Oh I have owned this one for at least 3 maybe 4 years now.

The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen

Did you "buy" this book in 2017 or before?
I checked this out from the library in 2002 and read a few pages but returned it without thinking much about it. I've been meaning to pick it up for the last 15 years.

Any reason you didn't pick it before?
Sheer laziness.

Is there another title waiting on your shelves since a long time?
Blood Meridian by Cormack McCarthy was loaned to me 3 years ago. I keep telling my friend that I still have it and it is on my to be read list for 2018.

message 68: by Joan (new)

Joan Barnett | 1972 comments - What are you reading this week? Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
- Did you "buy" this book in 2017 or before? I probably bought the whole series around the time when my son was in 1st or 2nd grade. He's in 10th now.
- Any reason you didn't pick it before? Other books just kept getting in the way.
- Is there another title waiting on your shelves since a long time? Yes of course - Fallen, Great Expectations, Beautiful Creatures, Anna Karenina and Winter's Tale just to name a few. This challenge though has helped me clear up some of them!!!

Deeply Odd by Dean Koontz

- Did you "buy" this book in 2017 or before?
Before but I don’t remember when

- Any reason you didn't pick it before?
I’ve read the previous Odd Thomas books and while I love them, it always takes me a while to get into them. Plus I get distracted by easier reads

- Is there another title waiting on your shelves since a long time?
There’s plenty. I have too many (kindle) books and not enough time or motivation sometimes

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments - What are you reading this week?Carry the One by Carol Anshaw
- Did you "buy" this book in 2017 or before? I won it as a give away here when I joined in 2012
- Any reason you didn't pick it before? I own way too many books and I tend to read off my kindle instead of taking my actual physical books off the shelf. Its very sad.
- Is there another title waiting on your shelves since a long time? I haven't read 3/4 of the books that I own.....I think I have something like 500+ on my kindle, not including my shared kindle with my X and also a bookshelf in my room and 3 in the living room that are over flowing. This does not count my childrens book collection. I don't think I will ever be able to read them all in my lifetime .
