What order to read

Do I have to read this before 'heir of fire'

I got into the series late so I read the book as followed around the time before Queen of Shadows came out. I think this has to be read before Queen of Shadows because there are characters in it that would make it confusing of who they are and what relation they have with others while reading.

I read them from 1-5 then read the assassin blade last. But I think I would have understood assassins blade better if I had read throne of glass first then assassins blade next and then continued on with the story, but I was just too impatient to know what happens next.

Yeah I was stupid not to do that. I felt so much pressure form myself to keep reading the sequels after throne of glass because I was so immersed in the story that I felt like if I read the novellas after tog then I would be moving backwards rather than forwards in the story.
But I think I would have understood the story better if I had read them in publication date.

It doesnt really matter. I dont know how far youre in the series. But the books go from amazing. To meh to horrible really fast XD
