I'm on a long shift at the other job, doing paperwork and bored. Fortunately, I have lots of Addam's Family reruns to keep me company. I don't care how many times I see these episodes, I never get tired of them.

I thought this could be a fun topic. Tell us one thing you never get tired of (or multiple things) and why (or not). But, remember... no bookwhacking. We all love our own books and never tire of them, so that goes without saying, right?

Anyway. I'm a sucker for campy sixties sitcoms, anyway, but my favorite is The Addams Family. I love fish out of water stories and a show about a strange and kookie family that does not understand how strange they are is hilarious to me.

What do I love the most? I think the love affair of Gomez and Morticia. How often on TV do you see a couple so in love with so many inside jokes? It's just fun seeing a married couple on TV that can still turn each other on, even if it's in weird ways.

I love Lurch. I love how nothing ever really makes him happy. I love how he moans when he knows things are not going to go well. He's clearly the brains of the family, but no one ever asks his opinion.

What is a show, a movie, a book, etc. that you never tire of?

Tara Woods Turner Anything by Laura Kinsale. I've read Jane Eyre nine times and have read The Persian Boy by Mary Renault four times. Also anything with brave knights, damsels, swords, sorcerers and dragons never gets old.

Jessica Jesinghaus (jessjesinghhaus) | 78 comments Firefly. The camaraderie, the humor, the heart. I can't count how many times I've watched the series. "I aim to misbehave" is probably the best line in the 'verse. ;)

Tara Woods Turner What is Firefly?

Oh, Tara, you just broke my heart! It's cowboys in space, by Joss Whedon! Absolutely brilliant, and far too short-lived. It has an amazing cast with Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, Alan Tudyk and so many others! Love it so much. Here's more about Firefly. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firefly...

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) | 973 comments Dwayne,
My favorite character in the Addam's Family is Thing. Just so expressive. : )

I watch Christmas Vacation starring Chevy Chase and Beverly DeAngelo whenever we come across it on TV. We own the movie and watch it every Christmas Day along with A Christmas Story. I never tire of sarcastic humor. : D

Uh-oh lol. Will try to make it right! Off to read more :)

Jessica Jesinghaus (jessjesinghhaus) | 78 comments Adams Family is awesome too though. When I was a kid I showed horses with my mom & little sister. Loooong road trips hauling the horse trailer all over the west coast. I used to flip my hair over the front of my face, put my glasses back on, and wave at cars as we passed (from the passenger seat, of course). Inspired by Cousin Itt. Now, if only I could've seen their faces! LOL

Tara, you must Netflix binge Firefly. You'll love it! "Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!"

message 10: by Jane (new)

Jane Jago | 888 comments To watch? Well you can't beat Blackadder IMHO.

To listen to? Either the Bridge Over Troubled Water album (Simon and Garfunkel) or Nashville Skyline (Dylan).

To read? Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay. Any Pratchett with the witches in. Brian Jacques. The Song of Hiawatha (Longfellow).

Probably more but I'm getting old-ladyish and list-y so I'll hush.

Addams Family is great! I love that stuff.

I can't get tired of Avatar the Last Airbender and Legend of Korra. It has humor, drama, and action. It's a beautiful blend that always brings my mood up. Same with Harry Potter. I've read and watched the series so many times. It's a treasure.

Oooo!!! Excellent taste!

I have several songs I never get tired of. First two to pop into mind would be "Born to Run" by Bruce Springsteen and "Under Pressure" by Queen and David Bowie.

Never could get into the Golden Girls for some reason. I like the cast, I just don't find it funny, somehow. But, I know about a million people who do like it. I love the other three on your list!

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) Metroid. I don't play many videogames and I pretty much peaked with the side scrolling awesomeness of the Super Nintendo, but I still have to bust out a Metroid game every so often.

Come to think of it, Centipede in the arcade. I'll never get tired of shooting space bugs either.

G.G. (ggatcheson) | 2491 comments Oh Christina! You gave me my answer! :P

PC games: I will never get tired of Heroes of Magic V and its expansions.

Movies I can watch over and over and never get tired: Starman and Fluke. (Of course, during Christmas time, Home Alone is always fun to watch...)

Books: Well I don't typically read a book more than once, so I can't really name any,

TV shows: Moonlight (2007) and Starman (1987-88) Love LOVE those two.

We're showing it to my mother in law this week. She loves it. How could anyone NOT love it? And she said "so you guys have seen all these before?" and we told her many many times... but we still laughed at "how can you shame me in front of new people?"

The Food Network and the Cooking Channel. If there's something I don't like on one, I can just change it to the other.

And to add one of my favorite Firefly quotes: "You can't open the book of my life and jump in the middle."

Oh my, I get so grumpy when I am hungry. Hubby's always laughing about it, but he'll stop at a fast food restaurant or a sit in restaurant, depending on his mood when it's getting late so my humor doesn't change on him. :P

I'm with you there. I don't just want food, I want tasty, filling, satisfying food. In fact, thus far, I have yet to tire of the supreme pizzas we get from Schwan's. Delicious and quick to bake - can't ask for anything more.

I never tire of the movie Coraline. We have a massive movie collection, and out of all of them that's probably the one that gets watched the most by me, even though I pretty much have it memorized. That and Spirited Away.

I love playing video games but I do have a tendency to wander away from them after playing them for a while. But not with Guild Wars 2. Just when I think I'm getting bored with it, it manages to suck me back in, even if all I'm doing is running around a haunted maze farming for loot.
