Likes:
I really liked the characters. All these different, fun, lovable, scary, witty characters are what kept me engaged through the entire story. Feeling like the next page will explain more about mysterious characters and their backstories and goals. I also really like this type of genre. Fantasy and adventure are a fantastic combination.
Dislikes:
The whole story felt like a fairy tale mixed with a bit of adventure and romance. At the end of the story, i was waiting for the "they lived happily ever after" cliche, that is not what I got. I usually really dislike a sad ending to finish off a book. It just makes me feel incredibly empty inside. It was just a very cold end of a warm story (if that makes any sense). So basically I wasn't fond of the ending.
Writing style:
I actually really liked the writing style. I think it fit very much into the mythical/magical story. The word choice is beautiful and the sentence structure is very articulate. Huge thumbs up for the amazing words that accompany the amazing story.
Theme:
Love is an extremely strong force. Throughout the entire story, the biggest occurrences occurred because of love. For example in the very beginning of the story. The reason that Tristan went out of the comfort of Wall and into the unknown lands ahead was because Victoria promised her hand in marriage. Another big thing that he did that was in the name of love was leave his family forever. Once he found out that his newfound love couldn't travel back into Wall with him he chose not to come back. He said his goodbyes to his family and left.
