Just curious, what are some other genres hit our preferred reading lists.

Mine is Fantasy. I LOVE Fantasy of any kind.
Some of my favorites are Blood Song, Dead Witch Walking, Wizard's First Rule, Goddess of the Sea, The Waking Fire, and Hood.

I love historical fiction, as well. I picked up Burial Rites not too long ago and I am hoping to start it soon. Also, At the Water's Edge. They both sound really good. I loved Water for Elephants and heard this one is actually better.

Michelle (nanlewis) | 156 comments Nancy, I've been looking back on my reading lists, and two books might fit your bill: Blessed Are the Cheesemakers, by Sarah-Kate Lynch - very warm, funny, and quirky. Also, one by an author I've always enjoyed, Barbara Kingsolver. This title was in fact recommened by Trinity in a thread somewhere, and it is really heartwarming (and relatively short): The Bean Trees.

Good luck!

Barbara Kingsolver is one of my favorites, as well. Charlaine Harris Real Murders or any of her other mysteries are really good. Janet Evanovich One for the Money is a great series!! Always a go-to for a light hearted read.

Fantasy is a whole different beast. What type of fantasy? And how long would you like the book to be? Nearly all fantasy books come in serial or trilogy.

I love fantasy series or trilogies. I have read a bunch of trilogies lately. The Mary Stewart series about Merlin. I read The Crystal Cave when I was little.
Also historical fiction with puzzling mysteries, crime mysteries, sometimes cozies, psychological thrillers...
For me it depends on my mood. What about you all? Mood?
