"Me too," Noil sighed. "I've always thought of her as a sister and nothing more too. I hope she sees that one day."
"Good." Harmony smiled. "You can put away the fire for a moment. You can't see the glow if there's light."
As soon as the light disappeared, pale blue-green lights appeared all around on the ceiling and walls. "Oh. They've spread," Harmony observed.
"Hmm-mm." Harmony shook her head. "And the creatures will hides and the flowers will blend so you won't even be able to see where the glow was coming from."
"They're creatures?" Noil half yelled as he scanned the walls. "You sure have a way of surprising people."
"Not that I know of." Harmony laughed lightly and watched as the blue-green shifted to purple. "Purple is my favourite color," she said.
"At least you could teach yourself," Noil sighed as he ran a hand through his hair. "My mentor kicked me out as soon as I lit the room on fire and this was when I had joined the Neverseen."
"Youch." Harmony made a face. She turned left and they walked into a dark cave. "Here we are. Are you sure you still wanna try to learn?"
"But of course! Might as well do something useful while I'm here," Noil said walking first into the cave.
Harmony smiled. "Alright. Just a warning, they might react differently to your vocal tones because they're much deeper than mine and Fawna's."
Harmony giggled. "Exactly!" She agreed. "Alright. Follow me note for note." She hummed a few notes for him to copy.
"Okay," Noil tried copying Harmony's notes but he always messed up. What on earth was he doing wrong?
"Do it in your own range," Harmony advised. "Don't try to hit so high. Try to harmonise(*snicker*)."
"Fine," Noil grumbled, trying few more times before he barley had the note he wanted. "How as that?"
"You're trying to hard dear." Harmony smiled warmly. "Just let it flow out. It sounds ridiculous but that's the best way I can describe it."
"Well when you put it that way," Noil said in a mocking tone. But sure enough when he tried, he actually sounded decently alright.
Noil tried copying the notes again but his hum wouldn't cooperate.
"I think you've stumped me on this one."
"I think you've stumped me on this one."
"Hmm." Harmony thought for a moment. She cocked her head at him, then gave him a quick kiss. "Well I think you're doing great so far so don't give up."
"I'll try not to," Noil said sadly. He hummed for a bit, matching the same notes as Harmony's, and the walls slowly lit up.
"Well it worked didn't it?" Harmony looked around, her eyes sparkling. She hummed lightly with the echos of Noil's voice. "You're a fast learner. Want to do the next bit too?"
"This bit is whistling and will light up the green." Harmony whistled a few notes for him to follow.
Noil took a deep breath, and licked his lips.
He copied Harmony's notes perfectly.
"Huh. I wonder why that went better."

"I try to be," Noil smiled.
It was true though. As hard as he could possibly try, he may never sound as good as Harmony.
