comments and conversations

I'm hoping you can help me out with something.

I only get to GR here and there and when I get into some conversations I have a terrible time finding my way back to them. There are SO many groups and discussions and topics within groups that I can never find my way back to where I was last trying to join in the conversation. The notification system seems to be all or none: either you get emails on every topic whether you were involved or not, or you get none.

Is there a happy medium?

Is there a way to track your own comments and follow some breadcrumbs back to only those conversations you were actually involved in without wading through the entire list of topics and hoping to recognize one of them?

This question would probably best be directed to the Feedback group, but I'll try to help you.

Can you find your way to your profile. Click the Edit Profile link just to the right of your profile title. Then click the Feeds tab. There is a list of actions that you can take or events that can occur. Check any of the ones you would like to show up in your feeds, e.g. Comment on a book or group discussion. The most recent comments will then show up in your list of Recent Updates on your profile page.

Also, if you can find any comment you've made in the group that you're concerned with, not necessarily the comment you're looking for, hover over your name in the heading of the comment. A link will appear just below your name that says Comment History. Click that and it will bring up a list of comments made by you in that group.

I face the exact problem you have to encounter. But I think the most efficient, or rather the ONLY way to find your way back to conversations held in groups (which you have joined), is to either rely on your Goodreads inbox or notifications, or remember the names of the groups you have joined, so you can select the 'groups' option under 'Explore' on your homepage, and select the name of the groups you joined and begin your conversation from exactly where you stopped...

Found the link to all of your comments! Go to the home page (www.goodreads.com). In the right panel a little ways down will be your avatar, with a number of links below it. One of those links is "comments" which will take you to a list of all your comments.
