What do you do to get out of a "reading slump"?

Chloe (chloesinhercorner) I like to read an 'easy' book, like a cheesy young adult book or click flick. If I know I can finish it quickly I look forward to reading more again :)

Juni (eanaira) | 3 comments I usually go to the bookstore and buy a new book or reread a book I really enjoyed ^^

Darby | 217 comments Wait you mean sometimes people stop wanting to read books? *brain explodes*

But if you're having trouble focusing on a book, then you can read it, and as you read make up 10 questions on a nearby piece of paper. Basically pretend you're a teacher making a worksheet for a student about the plot of the book. You'll notice loads of things you might've otherwise not.

Maria First I was thinking: "Well, there is this wonderful website called Goodreads that has helped me a lot with reading more, there you can..." and then I had to slap myself in the face.

Those are all great tips! One thing I do is cleaning my bookcase, because then I rediscover a lot of books that had just been lying there collecting dust. I also think of the worst book I have ever read and think that if I could finish that one, I should be able to start reading again. But the best thing is probably (like you have said) to read something nice and easy :)

Do you guys have any Booktuber favourites? I'm not familiar with anyone and would love to hear some tips! xxx

Erica Rucker | 59 comments I usually come on here and look through my "to read" shelf or look through the recommended books on here. Book recommendations are usually what gets me going the most.

Or I look for new/popular books. When I'm in a slump I usually take a trip to the library and head to the "new YA" section and pick up two or three books. That always gets me back on track.

Ailish In my opinion there's no such thing as a reading slump!! There are times when I'm really not motivated to read so I don't. You shouldn't force yourself to read, that just takes out the enjoyment of it, it's not a race, just do other things, when you want to you'll pick up a book!!

Recently I haven't been reading much because of exams but once there over, I'm sure I'm going to go mental and just hibernate with my books for a few weeks!! :)

Darby | 217 comments Maria: BooksandQuills is my favorite booktuber. I love her and her videos just so much >.< 60% of the new stuff I've read in the past year was recommended by her.

Zahro I either read an old favourite or pick up a few children's books (especially something from the Cosy Classics series!).
Or just force myself through a book. If you get something from the library you have a set of time to read it and my reading list's about 650 books long so I can't stop. :D
