Peyton | 4 comments I read this book a few years ago, it's fiction, and the thing that sticks out in my mind most is that it was inspired by the TV show Twin Peaks. I've never seen the show but after reading this book, I remember that I wanted to look into it.
The cover had dark trees on it, and the title was in the center in white text. I feel like it was a generic title, something like "The Forest" or "The Woods" but I know it's not.
It was definitely a dystopian novel about a man who woke up in some strange town, and he may have had amnesia? But I think the town turned violent- I specifically remember someone's head getting smashed in- and I remember the book ending in an apocalypse kind of scenario. I know the character was by himself for the last few chapters and I think there may have been aliens or something weird and sci-fi involved, because I remember being thrown off by the sci-fi portion of the book. I read it around 2013 or 2014, and it was a fairly new book at that time. It would probably be considered a YA book. There were also plans for it to be made into a TV series. I'm so sorry for all the vague details, but I can't remember the title, author's name, character names, anything. My repeated searches for a book inspired by Twin Peaks have come up with nothing. You would think that a book that was made into a TV show would be easy to find. Please help!

The Twin Peaks comparison has been made, and Pines is a TV show now, and it was published around that time.
