Wait.......maybe I'm confused.........wasn't it Rosewater, or something like that? His name, not Jorgenson, but Rosewater, the former partner of Wynant?

Yes Rosewater is the name in my edition.
I love Studsy. He's so funny.
There's another crazy woman in this chapter. Nora is the only woman in this book to be treated fairly. Dorothy is crazy, her mother is crazier and Miriam has a nasty temper.
Chris Jorgensen as Rosewater was a huge surprise. I never guessed that at all.

Nora was made more of a partner in the movie. I was hoping the movie was closer to the book but I heard the book was classic noir so I figured it wasn't. The movie features rat-a-tat-tat banter between William Powell and Myrna Loy as Nick and Nora. I went and watched every movie they were in together and they had fabulous chemistry.

Sorry, I just saw this. It's crazy, my ebook has Jorgensen, so I went and looked it up. Apparently the character's original name was Rosewater, but the producer required a name change for the film. Now for some reason, some editions are printed with Jorgensen as the character's name. Both are correct, so I suppose it makes little difference.
Also, sorry I haven't been keeping up with the discussions. My chihuahua has had surgery three times in about the last two weeks, so what time I've had I wanted put into making sure the weeks were posted. I'm glad you guys seem to be enjoying it though.

sorry to hear about the little one! World's tiniest surgical instruments....hope all goes well.
No, it was Kelterman that threw me off. So you're saying they changed his original name from Kelterman to Rosewater for the film? Hmm....

I'll keep him in my thoughts--and you too!
My heavens! 3 surgeries in two weeks! Poor little dog!

Yes, they changed Rosewater for Kelterman, though I have no idea why. Here's an excerpt from my copy :
“I asked: "Did either of you ever see the Sidney Kelterman your father had trouble with back when I first knew you?"
Dorothy shook her head. Gilbert said: "No. Why?"
"Just an idea I had. I never saw him either, but the description they gave me, with some easy changes, could be made to fit your Chris Jorgensen.”
I have no idea why some book editions seem to have the film name either...

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. It's been a long couple of weeks. My dog, Holly, seemed to be running a fever and congested, so I gave her some puppy Benadryl the vet suggested. A couple of days later I found a swollen, inflamed area about the size of a half dollar on her side that was very hard, and she screamed when I touched it. I took her to the vet, and he said it looked like something that was starting to abscess, so kept her and put her under to do some scans and draw a biopsy. Turned out she had a mass in her abdomen about the size of a decently sized plum, that was starting to grow and push out toward the skin. He thought because of her size and how close it was to her intestine, plus how long she would've been under anesthesia at her age, it would be safer to do it in two stages. He said in his opinion, he doesn't believe it's going to be malignant, but now we're just waiting for the biopsy to come back, and to go get her stitches out.
