Elina Vale (elinavale) | 1 comments Hi everyone!

I have just finished my first manuscript and I really need help with it. I am a beginner, and this is my first novel i wish to publish. Also, I'm not native English-speaker, so I need help maybe more than others especially with proofreading. :)

My manuscript is a fantasy novel about a girl, who wishes to learn how to do magic. She lives in a city as a captive, but has a chance to reach her dreams through a dangerous game, the Gate Run. If she survives, she will be accepted as a trainee in the tower Spike.

Thus, I am in search for an editor -I intend to self-publish this book. :) But I also wish to have a beta-reader to give me some feedback from the story in general.

BR,

Here's my two cents (or three):

1. Get your manuscript beta read by several people first (at least three).
2. Revise your manuscript based on beta reader feedback before hiring a professional editor.
3. A proofreader should be your very last set of eyes on your manuscript before you self-publish. Hire a professional proofreader only after revising your manuscript based on your editor's feedback.

Good luck!

Entrada Book Review | 4 comments Elina,

HKB has given you some great advice. Make sure you get at least three beta readers before sending it in for a professional edit.
