Snail Wow Feast was a rough ride, stay strong Meredith. In that case we can reminisce about the first book. I personally loved the Jon and Arya chapters most in the first book. I know it didn't do much for overall story plot, but I found them the most enjoyable.

Meredith Wilson (likoali) | 11 comments They are pretty enjoyable chapters. I like how Arya is really mature for her age. I have a daughter her age that can't learn to wield a sword like her. Oh Needle..oh! So is A Feast for Crows just slower than the others? People keep telling me it's rough but I'm willing to stick it out. No spoilers though! This is for the first book, I'm just curious

Meredith Wilson (likoali) | 11 comments Okay I stopped being lazy and I read some of the reviews 😂😂 I'll be fine with it, but I hope I don't end up in a reading slump, those are the worst!

Here is a Reading guide for books 4 & 5 - these two books spoil each other (so if you read one, then read the other, some things will be spoiled, no matter which you read first). So they came up with this plan where you read both books at the same time, going back and forth accordingly: http://boiledleather.com/post/2590255...

Please note this thread is ONLY for discussion of book one!! No spoilers, please.

They do have a really sweet relationship. I think they're each other's favorite family member :) I love how Jon tells her (I think it was Jon? Correct me if I'm wrong) how different roads can lead to the same castle. Great foreshadowing, but also, great life lesson.

Meredith Wilson (likoali) | 11 comments Absolutely! They're two of my favorites. Thanks for listing these I'll take a look!

Cersei is (view spoiler)... she just might be my favorite character of all (I've seen all the HBO episodes). I know I'm supposed to (view spoiler). My favorite "good" character is definitely Jon Snow.

Ana (mugglesareunwelcome) | 1 comments Anyone diving into this one for round 5 and willing to buddy read? I feel like I need some moral support here

message 61: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 10 comments Yes :p Well I've already read 300pg, but me and my buddy at the time paused it, so I'm taking this time to get back into this and also pick up Wise Man's Fear.

message 62: by Victoria (new)

Victoria (lestrange02) | 1 comments I’m going to read A Feast for Crows for the challenge! I recently purchased A Dance With Dragons too so I might pick that up as well!

message 63: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 10 comments Yeah exactly haha. I just read the book as a rerun of the tv show XD

message 64: by Amani (last edited Nov 07, 2017 08:43AM) (new)

Amani | 3 comments I've read this before but I never continued on with the series (have watched the tv show) and I am excited to jump back in. My favorite family in the show is definitely the Lannister, Cersei's father Tywin is one of my all time favorite characters on the show. In terms of good families obviously the Starks but I also like the Tyrells.

message 65: by Anastasia (new)

Anastasia (booksteainsanity) Ana, I’d be happy to buddy read this with you! Let me know if that’s something you’d like to do. :)

message 66: by Misty (new)

Misty Mathis (mistymathis) | 1 comments I'm starting this book first for the readathon. I've not seen the show nor have I read the books 😊😊😚I can't wait!

message 67: by Manal (new)

Manal I'm reading A Dance With Dragons for the readathon. I read the rest back in 2013 and started this one too but I just felt burnt out from reading them all one after another that I never finished the last one!

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 45 comments I will be finally reading this book this readathon! Can't wait!

message 69: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (harasnicole) | 6 comments Ooh, this is a perfect opportunity for me to pick up the book again and actually finish it. There's currently a bookmark sitting at around the 68% mark, and it's been like for awhile.

message 70: by Maria (new)

Maria I'm thinking of picking this as the first book (and probably the only book) I'm gonna read throughout the readathon) so If anyone wants to buddy read it with me please add me! =)

Hello! I'm also planning on trying to read the first book of this series once more. I tried ages ago but probably stopped halfway through and don't remember much of anything. So I'll be starting over and definitely hoping to finish it for this readathon!

message 72: by Pam (new)

Pam (pamkj) | 2 comments I'm planning on listening to the audiobook so count me in for a buddy read!!
