Wow Feast was a rough ride, stay strong Meredith. In that case we can reminisce about the first book. I personally loved the Jon and Arya chapters most in the first book. I know it didn't do much for overall story plot, but I found them the most enjoyable.

They are pretty enjoyable chapters. I like how Arya is really mature for her age. I have a daughter her age that can't learn to wield a sword like her. Oh Needle..oh! So is A Feast for Crows just slower than the others? People keep telling me it's rough but I'm willing to stick it out. No spoilers though! This is for the first book, I'm just curious
Okay I stopped being lazy and I read some of the reviews 😂😂 I'll be fine with it, but I hope I don't end up in a reading slump, those are the worst!

Here is a Reading guide for books 4 & 5 - these two books spoil each other (so if you read one, then read the other, some things will be spoiled, no matter which you read first). So they came up with this plan where you read both books at the same time, going back and forth accordingly: http://boiledleather.com/post/2590255...
Please note this thread is ONLY for discussion of book one!! No spoilers, please.

Correct me if I'm wrong) how different roads can lead to the same castle. Great foreshadowing, but also, great life lesson.

Meredith wrote: "Sure I would love that! You will definitely grow to not like the Lannisters at all! Although later on I'm okay with Jamie and Tyrion"Cersei is (view spoiler)... she just might be my favorite character of all (I've seen all the HBO episodes). I know I'm supposed to (view spoiler). My favorite "good" character is definitely Jon Snow.
Anyone diving into this one for round 5 and willing to buddy read? I feel like I need some moral support here
Yes :p Well I've already read 300pg, but me and my buddy at the time paused it, so I'm taking this time to get back into this and also pick up Wise Man's Fear.
I’m going to read A Feast for Crows for the challenge! I recently purchased A Dance With Dragons too so I might pick that up as well!
I've read this before but I never continued on with the series (have watched the tv show) and I am excited to jump back in. My favorite family in the show is definitely the Lannister, Cersei's father Tywin is one of my all time favorite characters on the show. In terms of good families obviously the Starks but I also like the Tyrells.
I'm starting this book first for the readathon. I've not seen the show nor have I read the books 😊😊😚I can't wait!
I'm reading A Dance With Dragons for the readathon. I read the rest back in 2013 and started this one too but I just felt burnt out from reading them all one after another that I never finished the last one!
Ooh, this is a perfect opportunity for me to pick up the book again and actually finish it. There's currently a bookmark sitting at around the 68% mark, and it's been like for awhile.
I'm thinking of picking this as the first book (and probably the only book) I'm gonna read throughout the readathon) so If anyone wants to buddy read it with me please add me! =)

I'm also planning on trying to read the first book of this series once more. I tried ages ago but probably stopped halfway through and don't remember much of anything. So I'll be starting over and definitely hoping to finish it for this readathon!

I've been reading this book off and on for a good 3 years now, and finally I'm back in the mood to finish it.I have about 101 pages left. Hoping to maybe finish it once and for all sometime this week.
