Chris Wright (author_chris_g_wright) | 30 comments Hi everyone,

This is my first book The Alliance (1 of 6) of The Evox Chronicles. It has been a long journey for me and it involved LOTS of coffee, patience (mostly my partner's), research and finding the time to do everything an adult does these days.

Now to the point: The story kicks during a war between Humans and Sky Tyrants. The latter came with no obvious motives other than to claim Earth (or so it would seem.) Within 2 years, Humanity is nearing the verge of extinction, and in order to survive, they have to agree to "external" help. (I don't want to say too much.)

Humans face their greatest test. It doesn't come down to winning the war; it comes down to evolution. In order to evolve, they must open their minds to the truth of their origins.

In the end, Humans will have to trust their new allies and go along with a plan cloaked in secrecy, which rests on the shoulders of two Humans. The question is: Can they trust two Humans - whose species were programmed to be flawed - to overcome their limits and help defeat the Milky Way's greatest threat?

There's a lot more to this book, folks. But I'd hate to feed you all the spoilers. I would appreciate some honest reviews from you, as they will help me "evolve" as a writer. Let me know your thoughts.

Best wishes,
Chris

Chris Wright (author_chris_g_wright) | 30 comments It's dark and serious, meaning it's not TOO far-fetched (though since it's science fiction, it has every right to be). There's a vendetta between two alien civilisations, which spreads throughout the Milky Way to envelop the Humans and other species. Human history is evidence that one Human can't tolerate another, hence the wars, the greed, the hatred etc. But when something bigger, stronger and more advanced arrives on their doorstep, unprepared and unmatched, they take a good beating.

I bring a bit of conspiracy theories into the story during the first chapters (not too much of it, don't worry), laying the groundwork for the story's momentum and the events that follow.

There's a lot of travelling across countries for two of the main characters, both of whom are required to make sacrifices for the greater good. As Humans, seeing the bigger picture isn't always easy, but whether they make the right decision (now, or in the following books) that remains to be seen.

The book also address some questions regarding evolution, and incorporates some astrophysics here and there (not too much, as I didn't want to over-complicate it).

If I say any more, I might spoil it.
