Benedict Cumberbatch - the leading actor of his generation?

With the 3rd Benedict Cumberbatch performance biography coming in a couple of weeks [it's hard for Lynnette to keep up with his rate of output], is it time to acknowledge Benedict Cumberbatch as the most accomplished actor of his generation? With three major franchises (Sherlock, Star Trek and now Marvel) as well as stellar on stage performances, multiple oscar and Emmy award nominations surely he's #1?

Could be. Other stars are fading as fame is fleeting. Johnny Depp went from hot to not over night.

Speaking of Cumberbatch--who I agree is 1 of the best actors ever--has anybody seen his latest, Dr. Strange? I must confess: I was a teeny bit disappointed, the movie wasn't as good as I thought it'd be; his & every1 else's acting in it was great; I think it was just kind of a weak plot. But anyway, there's a scene in the movie showing a NY train with Stan Lee sitting there & chuckling over a book he was reading. So I'm wondering if anybody else has seen it & knows what book he was reading; it went by so fast (like most of his cameo appearances do) that we couldn't catch the title of the book.

I'm not certain that fellow actors would agree that starring roles in major franchises are key criteria for talent, but he's definitely up there in the top 10. It would be most intriguing to see him in a wider variety of roles, including those characters who are not well-educated and of means.
